- RandyName of business
- Dan| 3 repliesIt was quite sketchy, have Indian ascent, but also very patient and polite as it is Indian culture. What I didn't like was that the second question was already the last 4 digits of my social. So I went back to the internet and found out it was legit, form GM financial
- Caller: GM Financial
- Call type: Event reminder
- Henry replies to DanI got the same call. I told him it didn't make sense for anybody to call me and ask for my social as their vacations in order to discuss financing options for the Chevrolet Spark lease return. They called me so they know who I am. Why do I need to verify? So shady so I told him to question management about their process.
- HenryAlso, their caller ID number is 1 - 678-375-3000
- HeywoodThe caller left this number on my voice mail and asked me to return the call. Heavy Indian accent and so fast that I could barely understand. We have a GM lease, but this smells like a scam!
- Caller: GMAC?
- Susan replies to Dan| 1 replyYes - got the same call but from 716-564-5772 (NY) and a very polite Indian man asked me for the last 4 digits of my SS # and I declined but he then gave me this 1-800 number to call or check out to confirm he was legit and it is GM Financial. I didn't like the fact they want to verify who I was with the SS# even though it was just the last 4. They called ME and you would think they would know who they are calling! It's not like I called them!. Plus my lease isn't up officially until Sept 2018.
- no name replies to SusanI got a call too. Indian gentleman left a voicemail. sounds sketchy. not calling back after reading all this. Wouldn't really anyway.
- KimSame guy with heavy accent. Not returning call. I just got a letter from GM about the lease ending procedure. My lease isn't ending until October and it says to contact them 45 days prior to that and schedule a turn in date. I blocked the caller.
- Caller: GM Financial
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Tommy| 1 replyAll the people saying it is a scam are idiots. Listen to the damn voicemail and check the 800 number they leave you. It is GM Financial calling about the current lease you have with them that is probably ending in a month or two. Not everything is a scam. Do your research, know your life and call them back.
- Caller: GM Financial
- Call type: Valid
- Tygerkat replies to TommyName-calling. Always a good way to get your point across.
As for the rest of your comment, this number may or may not belong to GM Financial but with the prevalence of scammers spoofing legitimate numbers it's always a good idea to never give an unknown caller personal information of any sort. Instead, the smart thing to do is hang up and call a known number for them, such as the one on your lease agreement. - RachelGot a phone call stating from gm financial. Asked for my last 4 of SSN. I told the guy gm has never called and asked for my last 4. I refused. I Called the GM financial number in their app and they confirmed they would never call and ask for that.
