Caller ID said PSE&G 800-436-7734 so I picked up.  I also have an appt. scheduled with them, so I thought it was about that.  Turned out to be a SCAM.....again.  Heavy Indian accent says he's from PSE&G and because I have been paying my bills on time I will be getting a $180.00 credit on my bill....."Great" I say.  But.....he needs my account number.  I tell him "if your from PSEG then you must have my account #....right?"  So, I tell him that I don't think he's from PSEG and that I would call the company myself to check out this 'refund' program.  He finally hung-up.

What does the political outburst have to do with a scam call allegedly from PSE&G about cutting off your service.

I don't see the connection at all.

I'm trying to find the connection where you actually think that someone who clearly posted here in 2012 will decide, for some unknown reason, to come back after 7 years and reply to you. Could you help me with that one?

Received a call from this number this afternoon; it left a recording message saying that I'd won a car. It appears these criminals have found a new angle.

The beginning of the VM was cutoff I think (the message was only 24 seconds long), no name given on the part of the message I have.  Most likely a scam in a very low tech voicemail telling me to "consider this is the final notification on your account" (same vm system the Social Security scams are using)

Calls every so often...never answer because it's not them

Call from PSE&G about a bill and I never had their service.

Call to a cellphone, not answered.  See many previous comments about this number.

MSG said "Good bye", DUH!!

Called twice two days ago.  The second time I picked up and recognized a subcontinent accent.  Fun time.  PSE&G?  What's that?  "Public Service Electric & Gas, your electric power provider."  Oh, okay.  "Get your PSE&G bill."  I don't know where that is.  "You get a bill every month."  Oh, my son takes care of that.  Silence.  Disconnect.  I smile.

Caller ID said PSEG Customer Service.  That’s my electric company so I hesitantly picked up.  I didn’t say anything for a few seconds and it seemed like there was no one on the other end.  I hung up.  I won’t be surprised if this is followed by a bunch more calls going forward.

Called again to a cellphone.  See previous comments.

I reported to PSE&G and they're aware of it. Since the scammers have been spoofing this number for several years, it appears nothing can be done; don't bother answering. My home phone system is set up to just ring and ring and ring until they give up. I won't give them the satisfaction of even hearing my outgoing voicemail message. If I see a number in my missed call history that is legit (friend, family member, doctor's office, etc.), I simply just call them back. Unfortunately 99% of the calls are scams but thankfully most are intercepted by my call blocker.
