- Nebraska Girl| 1 replyReceived a call from 800-443-6341 and they left a message on my phone stating I had an account that was delinquent from September and I needed to call them back ASAP. This was a Jessica lady. They gave me a reference number for when I called back. So this morning I called back and they asked if I was Brian Jeweler. I asked them if I sounded like a Brian and they said well this must be Jessica. I reaffirmed my name is not Jessica and they asked me for my name. I told them they are the ones that called me and they would have my name. A Rose lady stated she had to reference my name to the account. She did not even have my number and wanted this also. I told her she called me so she should have it. She then asked me if I was with Widemax Communications. I told her I did not know who that even was. She then asked if this was Verizon Wireless Mobile. I told her no, that I do not own or run a business. I then asked her to share with me what account was in default and she told me to disregard as it evidently was not me. All I can say is scam scam scam. They called me they should know who I am.

- Chris CI received 3 calls from them asking me to call them back regarding an overdue account. They gave me a number to give them when I called them back. They asked if I was Roger Silver and I said no. They tried another name that wasn't me I don't remember the name. I told them to quit calling me. I didn't give them any personal information. I asked him for his name and he told me Tim Green. He clearly wasn't born in the US and may have been in another country. I highly doubt that was his real name. I also noticed the names he gave me all ended in colors. Seems like a scam.

They say we owe, but we do not. I called my Deluxe Number (the real Number) and let them know. They said my account is in perfect standing and that they are aware.

- Alaskan BusinessWe just had a call, same story: call this 800 number, use this reference number. I'm glad I searched on the phone number and found this. I won't be calling back. Thanks, everyone, for sharing your experiences.

- JustStopItI received a call from this number claiming to be Deluxe saying my credit card had been declined, the info I had on file was expired. They asked me to provide my updated cc info. I looked the number up here and decided I would just call the main number for Deluxe rather than give the person on the phone my info. When I called Deluxe's main number they confirmed the cc I had on file was expired and they confirmed this number is legit, it's their accounting office in Dubai.
I think it's still best whenever you get a call asking for cc info to always get a callback number, then you initiate the call. You never know when the number that shows on your caller-id is being spoofed. But this number appears to be legitimate.- Caller: Deluxe
- ReceptionistRec'd a message so i called back. They couldn't find the reference number. They gave me a couple names for people who don't work here. When i told him that i was leery of him since his phone number came up with a lot of people reporting them as a scam he told me that it's the phone that makes it a 800 number. (LIE) He said the name of my company (I never gave it to him) so they can trace numbers. He said there was an order for 500 checks in September (also the same month in other complaints) and gave me some name. i told him no, that person doesn't work here and that someone gave them false info! he said he would remove the number! SCAM SCAM SCAM!

- James B| 1 replyThey keep calling that I have an over due balance with deluxe. They gave a reference number and said that if it was not taken care of it would be turned over for collection. After several messages I accidently answered the phone when the call was from them. I advised them several times that I didn't do any business Deluxe. I told them to send me an invoice so I can see what this is about. I did not receive anything. I became suspicious about this phone number and started checking on the internet. They sounded like they were not from the USA.

- BigA replies to James BIt is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
