Unknown 800 number caller that did not leave voicemail.

12-3-18   8:30 am in SoCal--went to voice mail-no sound--google search indicates  insurance related, as noted by another victim who posted

Caller with a thick middle east accent said he was "Chris Morgan" from Senior Benefits insurance plan.  He didn't had the name of whom he wished to speak to, only "the owner of this number."

The telephone number shown on the Caller ID should actually belong to The Variable Annuity Life Insurance Company of Amarillo, TX (valic.com).

As others report: received call; no message left. I doubt seriously this is legitimately the "Variable Annuity Life Insurance Company" noted in online records. I suspect someone has appropriated the number

Has called me 8 times in less than 24 hours without leaving a message. If this was a legitimate call they'd leave a message.

Picked up and said hello.....blip sound of a robocall......hung up....blocked

Person with a thick accent said he was from Senior Benefits, with information about "final expenses insurance policies." When I asked him how he got my number, since my number was on the DNC list and it was illegal for him to be calling me, he had the nerve to start yelling at me!! I hung up. Unfortunately, I went to donotcall.gov, and due to the government shutdown, the site is not available. Same with the FTC.

Just because your number is on the DNC registry doesn't mean someone can't "get" your number. Besides, scammers ignore the list anyway.

This phone number is associated with a website for VALIC.  Variable Annual Life Insurance Company. Called. No msg.  Probably SPAM

My call blocker handled another call from this number.

voip number for caller id spectrum blocked the call after 1 ring. must be a known scammer.

even though I have caller ID,  and a "leave a message"  which this person must not understand, Asian speaking gentleman, kept saying, Hello, hello..when I called back this # I was asked for my SS# before I could get any further..............of course, I would not give.

Called 3 times in a row my robo call software blocked it. Not the company the ID says for sure.

I got to the same point after I called back this number. They asked for my s.s. or I could’ve told go any further.
Has anyone gotten past this point.

Had a missed call on my caller ID from this number so I called back. I do have VALIC handling my 403b retirement account so I was not too suspicious when that name came up, but when the automated prompt on the other end insisted on my full nine digit SS # as well as my date of birth before I could speak to any representative, I knew this was a scam. There was no option to reach an operator or bypass the initial prompt, clearly a scam!!!

I had repeated calls from this number. I am not interested in whatever they are selling or promoting.

Receiving almost 10 calls a day. Answered and it appears to be a scam about insurance. Do not answer
