The call came in from a person claiming to be from Bank of America. They wanted my FULL SOCIAL SECURITY number. Did not give this out, and would suggest you do not either. This is a potential SCAM and you will be defrauded if you give them your account number and/or social security number. Be careful!!!

Do not take proceed with calls from this number. The people on the other end of the line will claim to be from a "collections agency" or a "law firm". They will ask you for your SS# in order to look up your account. Do not give it to them...it is in fact a SCAM!!

A woman first called saying she wanted someone who uses my phone for messages. I asked who she was and she said Ms Cornish.They first said they were a bank.
i called back and  man answered and he started yelling at me. I do not have caller id and can't afford it so here I am being harrassed by someone for a friend.This has gone on for a month even though I am on a no call list. They both informed me they didn't give a d--- about that list.
they now say they are a collection company.

no it is not a scam.....the people they call are people who owe money... they need the ssn to find the account that u probably owe thousands of dollars on....only people who are scamming is you who run credit cards  up with no intentions of paying it

Debt collection agencies are the scams. They buy unsecured debt, something which essentially doesn't exist, then they try to milk you out of it. Even if they get $500 they will be satisfied, becasue they know you are not likely to pay it anyway. Paying them off doesn't effect your credit score in any positive way, as your creditcard provider already did their damage. They write off the debt then sell it to these scammers to make some of the money back fopr themselves.

They called for my son.  When I called back and gave reference # he said a name of someone else and I said, "no that wasn't the name you asked for."  He then stumbled around and finally came up with my son's name.  My son also talked with him earlier and some how they had his father-in-law's phone number too.  Which wouldn't even have anything to do with this debt as he wasn't even married in 2004 and she wouldn't even have been on any of his financial information at that time.  Anyways, they wanted my son to pay $2400 but could get it down to $1400 and said it was with MBNA then Bank of America, then it came from debt from Radio Shack from 2004 (which my son never charged anything to radio shack).  My son told him to send him all the info through the mail and would  check it all out through his credit report.  Obviously a scam.  My son has never received on thing in the mail trying to collect this debt and reason being is because he doesn't have the debt obviously.

Um...if they have taken over your past due account for collections, they should already have all the information they need regarding your file.  Afterall, they managed to have the phone number to call you 10 times a day all day.

I def want to tell other's that this is a scam. They actually called three times in one day but two of the names they wanted to speak with were people i've never heard of. They def. didn't live in my house. I also beleive that any collector should already have all your information prior to the call, they should not need any more information, i mean they got your phone number, right?

They left a message on my answering machine telling me to call back at this number but when she was saying it she had trouble repeating the phone number. I laughed at that bit a little but I was surprised that they didn't leave any reason on why they are calling or where they are from. They just said call back at this number and use the code that they have left. I had a feeling that this was a scam good thing I googled the phone number before I did anything else.

B of a sucks, they are a bunch of crooks! I hope this recession bring them to bankruptcy, they ripped me off for $1100.00 the last time done business with them, and in the past with multiple business accounts and cards I always had problems with them!
They also ripped off my 80 year old mother out of $1400.00 !!!!!!!!!!!!

Guy calling for son.Give his name but can never understand it. Claims to be fromm MCL Financial Systems,a debt collection agency. Telling son to call 1-800-448-9576 at ext. 4557 so they can get information to use for collection of the debt. Has called & left message 6 times. Each call gets more desperate (adds reference # and then "must call me TODAY"). Glad I checked out MCL & number on web.

They keep calling my cell number and demands that I call them back. No name of the company.

Never call this number back. They are a scam... Hang them immediately... Scam... scam... Do not call them back... Do not give them any information... Nothing
