- Got gotFraud! Claim I had suspicious card info on my acct. asked to confirm the last 4 of social. Confirm the last 4 of my debit card and asked to put in my old debit card pin to cancel card out. Said the card was canceled and would be expedited the next day. After the call, two hours later my acct was swiped out from hotels in Miami. My bank called with the same call i got from them asking the same information. Informed me that the first call was fraudulent.

- BarbReceived a PIN number for a "transaction card" that I never requested or received. The thing that alarmed me was the PIN number which is an old PIN number that I haven't used in years. Asked to call 1-866.820.1076. Looked up the number and it registered as a Canadian number. The return address was PO Box 24410 in Omaha, Nebraska 68124-0410. Highly suspicious! Seems to be a scam.

- T-N-TOMG! I just realized the logo on the letter head is mastercard but then it goes no to read "here is your new Person Identification Number (PIN) to use with your Visa. . .To Change your PIN call: 888-886-0083. You will be asked to complete these simple steps: 1) Enter your account number." Exuse me, but how I am i supposed to just magically know the account number? There is zero indication of any financial institutiion written or doodled in the margin. So, like most adults I have more than one account. If I do think oh yeah I had to replace a card recently at Blah Credit Union. I call and give them my account #? Worst case for them they can only access the few measly bucks struggling 20 somethings have. If my elderly (pick a relative) gives them thier 401k or whatever retirement account number, this scam could ruin lives. I'm pretty sure that 401k's don't pay out on thier own debit card, but that doesn't mean nana will necessarily be paying attention to that fact. I mean there's a good chance they could obtain multiple account numbers per caller. Oh I thought it was from my other bank, but it didn't work I'll try such and such account number instead. I have recieved these before when I was not expecting any new card. I called a few years back and it seemed like a bad idea to give out any information and ended up just hanging up and throwing the letter away. I never had any problems with my cards i.e. I don't have a clue what that "PIN" was for. I did check my credit report, just in case, there wasn't anything new or unexpected there. I believe this scam is associated with more than one number as well. I Have been having issuses with identity theft currently and I have had to cancel two cards from separate finanical institutions. However, as I have recieved cards from these institutions before I know neither of them sends you a PIN # in the mail. One you just set in the app when you get the card and the other has you call the number on the sticker on the card. I have never had a bank send me a card in one letter and a PIN in the other. It doesn't even make since and is clearly not secure. I just wish to not recieve them anymore they stress me out. My PIN# for what? It would still be dicey if it did say here's your PIN # for your new Wells Fargo Debit Card/Bank of America Check Card ending in 0000. At the bottom it just says to call a customer service rep if you need assistance or are using a rotary telephone. That has to be targeting the eldery, who is calling them from a rotary phone? I haven't had a home phone since my first apartment in 2002. I did use a rotary phone once in the early 90's and it still blows my mind that someone had a working phone that big in thier house with out it ripping support beams out of the walls.

- AVZ replies to MikeThey keep it looking like junk mail to not peak anyone's interest or curiosity. People hang on to the letter with pin but the letter can't be matched up to a card. After three bad pin attempts most ATM's eat or cancel the card.
- CreoleLadiThis is CLEARLY a SCAMMER for me. I know my financial institutions’ phone numbers & this is NOT one of them. This phone number just called me 7 times consecutively. I declined them every single time and they called back IMMEDIATELY. In addition, I haven’t made any transactions with a card in over 24 hours, cash only. When my bank detects unusual activity, they deny transactions & call me within an hour. P.S, it’s Saturday. So if this phone number is not associated with any of your bank or credit cards..BLOCK IT. Let’s not be naive or dance with the devil people.
