Received call on 10/26/07 at 6:06PM.  I do not answer calls from numbers I don't know.  800-452-2777 was the only thing that showed on the caller ID.

That's the number for Progress Energy (of the Carolinas). They usually call to remind you about paying your electric bill.

Payment reminder courtesy call from Duke Energy.

Guy called said he was from Duke energy and said we had past due amount. Funny this is that we don't have service with Duke Energy.  This is a phishing  scam .

Jan 13, 2020  The scam continues. I received a voicemail today with the same info. Knew it was a scam because my bill isn't due until March. Since it was a voicemail I didn't get the pleasure of speaking with the scamer.

Automated call saying electric service would be cut off due to no payment. But service is not in my name and my number not on account. And bill is paid. Caller did not identify company. Wanted me to press 1 or 2 and when I didn’t call disconnected.

1-800-452-2777 is a scam, Not Duke Energy

Not funny how this tele# has not been shut down for years.  September 18 and still scamming people. WTH?

Duke Energy scam saying I owe past due amounts and they will disconnect my power within the hour unless I pay. I reported them to the real Duke Energy and was told they have received several calls from customers about this scam.

I keep getting texts from this number saying either thank you for your payment or today I get a text saying call 18004522777 because someone called them (being duke power) to turn off power at this address, if it’s in error please call to inform them. I called and a “RYAN” got on phone so I told him I did not call to disconnect anything nor have I made the payments they are saying I’ve made. None of them add up. I am writing this for my mother who lives with me and is 82 yrs old. They kept asking for her personal information. This is a scam. They seem to be scamming seniors. I’ve had enough!! Since my father passed away and she has lived with me her home has been robbed none stop. Her cherished possessions have been stolen. My childhood home they have trashed and treated like the dump. It sickens me. I have police patrolling and somehow they still slither in. I’ve had 2 arrested that were high out of their head on meth. I’m sick of this happening to us and seniors taken advantage of!!!  I have my concealed permit, if they come at me or threaten me or anyone in my family I guarantee it will stop! This scamming asking her if she lives alone etc could very well be behind it!

I moved from NC two years ago.  My account was settled at that time so nothing is owed.  Haven't been a Duke customer for a couple of years now.  Shut this # down and let them get a real job and quit scamming innocent people for their hard earned $$.
