- Mike| 1 replyThank you all for taking the time to list the information above. I was really starting to get cranky over these folks calling...and calling...and calling. I called the 800 # and followed the prompts like you recommended and I hope this problem will go away within 30 days.

- grgThat, or they will just confirm your number as good and resell it to other telemarketers.
- Debbie replies to MikeThanks to everyone for the info. I called them back as suggested and followed the prompts also. I hope they will stop calling. On the couple of times I answered the phone they hung up. This was really starting to annoy me. I'm glad I found this website, I will bookmark it just in case I have to use it again.
- dymend replies to JeffIf you do business with them the Do Not Call List does not apply. You have to opt out of telemarketing calls directly with that company. So they are not technically in violation if you're on the national do not call list. Any company you have done business with or have given your phone number to at one time or another can call you unless you opt out with that company for sales and promotion calls. Not sure how many people know this. I found out after doing some research. Hope this helps.
- dymendFor this or any other company that calls you directly ... Do not call the 800# back call the company directly. These calls are not coming from the company's call centers but agencies that they have farmed this work out to. You may opt out from calls for a bit but another company they use will get your number and they will start up again. Also as stated above if you do business with them, have one of their credit cards or have given them your number in anyway shape or form they can call you even if you are on the National do not call list. So find the number to the company's customer service and tell them you don't want the calls. Also be mindful that you have to add your number to the do not call list every five years. It drops off after that period of time. Hopes this helps you keep some sanity.

- Cheryl Gnau| 1 replyKeeps calling, many, many times a day. I work the night shift and they have woken me many times. Since I don't talk to numbers that don't list their name ID, if I answer, I tell them I'm not here and they try to find out a better time to call, which I never give them. I looked the number up online and found that the number is linked to HSBC CC telemarketing. I'm very upset that I can't leave my phone on for emergency calls, but must cut my ringer off to get a good rest before I have to work again!
- Caller: HSBC CC(?don't know for sure)
- Windy| 1 replyFinally. *whew* I actually called the customer service number listed at their web site and talked with a nice young lady. Explained what was happening and she said she would take my number out of their system immediately. I'll believe it when I don't get any further calls from them, but she was polite and understood where I was coming from which was NOT a good place!
So, the number you all need to call is 888-385-8916 (found at their website which is http://www.hsbccreditcard.com). Hope this helps y'all! I'll post again if they ever call again... so hopefully you won't see me here in the future. :)- Caller: hsbc cc

- JanCalled here at 7 am this morning. I didn't think they could call this early. Been calling 2 or 3 times a day. I don't answer 800 numbers either. This is really becoming a pain. Will try the opt out thing. Hope it works.
- MarioThey call 5 - 7 times each day!! Called the number back and got a recording to call the HSBC customer service at # listed on statement to possible lower APR as low as 6.9%. Agent at HSBC said they have received a lot of complaints on this number and to NOT answer it because it is not affiliated with them. APR adjustments only come in form of a letter.

I never pick up 800 numbers.....Unless it show an identification...but I read these posts the other day and I'm glad I did....today they called at 10:13 PM!!!!!! I picked up and gave him/Her a piece of my mind.......how dare they call that late at night. Everyday these people call and refuse to leave a message on my answering machine so why should I answer the call when they don't have the courage say something or have their name visible on my caller-ID
