- American Business ownerThis number is a scam. Someone opened a UPS account under our business name and proceeded to ship dozens of items and run up a 1000+ shipping bill. UPS closed the account but their fraud department is a joke to allow this to continue. This number calls us and tells us the account isn't cancelled and to pay the bill in full or we can't ship. Thankfully we keep track and know what we owe. Watch every shipment. They ship big items via freight sold from eBay or online and shipping to warehouse and larger businesses. Usually house repair items like tile, plumbing parts, constructions items. BEWARE!! and somehow these scammers keep charging up the UPS bill even though UPS has cancelled the account. UNBELIEVABLE. UPS you are idiots to allow this to continue. Oh, btw, the scammers sound like they are from India, nigeria, who knows, but not American. but, UPS employs mostly hard to understand foreigners too so you get what you get.

- deb1127This was a legit UPS call (at least for us) to my company. It was about an overdue bill. Yes, the person had a thick accent (which sends up alarms), but It was legit because we went through the payments they are missing, and she was able to tell me the $ amount owed on three prior invoices. However, we have paid those invoices - but they haven't received the checks. I'm glad we spoke because it we hadn't, our service would have been halted.

- DFGot a call from this number today; first call no one answered. Second time man with thick foreign accent claimed we hadn't paid our bill and needed to speak to our Accounts Payable. I kept asking for his name and his number indicating that that person was on the line (which was true). He said, "Michael Medina" and said he didn't have an extension (this is b.s. - EVERYONE at UPS has an extension number, NO one at a toll free number is a direct line). He kept asking for my name, my title (I didn't give him that) and he kept repeating our account number (which he did have). Definitely a scam, for sure. This is NOT UPS, because someone calling from UPS would KNOW who our accounts payable person is! And when you Google this number, UPS is NOT listed - this scam page does come right up though.

- BazzaThis is the legit phone number for UPS Accounts Receivable. I know it's legit, because I called UPS and they gave it to me!
That being said, it doesn't mean that an impostor couldn't call you and spoof the caller ID or say they are UPS. One thing is for sure, a UPS employee (human) should never ask for your credit card info over the phone. If it's really UPS, they transfer you to an automated, non-recorded system to punch in your numbers. You then get transferred back so the agent doesn't know your card info. If they aren't doing it this way, it isn't really UPS.- Caller: UPS

- DanCaller identified as UPS. Said we had a past invoice due and wanted our payment information. Gave a few numbers of our UPS account (that can be seen on any UPS package). This is a business that deals with UPS every day, so we immediately knew it was a scam.

- DanWork at business that ships UPS daily. Same barely-able-to-speak-intelligibly scammer gives us the first 6 digits of our account and then complains we owe UPS money. My business HAS a UPS representative. We don't owe any past due invoices so this is 100% criminal activity.

- Grace| 1 replyI called the main UPS number (1 800 PICK UPS). They confirmed it is one of their numbers, for the regional Accounts Receivable Dept. for the Bethlehem, PA area (I work for a company in central NJ). This department is outsourced to the Philippines. They were able to transfer me directly to this department from the main number. The "shipper number" they mention is not a tracking number, but your ACCOUNT number. I do not know why they called the main switchboard of our company instead of Accounts Payable, and the notion that they don't apply credits on your account *to* your account unless you specifically tell them to is odd, but this is, in fact, legitimate.

- Grace replies to GraceThey did not ask me for payment, by the way. I told them to resend the invoices to our Payables Dept. email, and they said they would (they already had the email address).
The caller ID did say "UPS". Perhaps someone is spoofing this number, so half the calls are legitimate, and half aren't? Very strange. - Diana| 1 replyI got a letter stating I owe $176.19

- Amanda replies to BillThen how do I have an outstanding balance when I don't even have an account? Nice try.
- George| 1 replyIn my case, it was legit. No heavy accent, said my UPS account has a balance due. The account number in the recording was correct. Went online to UPS and sure enough, the amount due matched the recording.
