- Deaner| 1 replyWasn't a call. But a call back number for the Scotiabank scheister machine that left me a message.
Just making people aware. - puggler replies to DeanerThis was a legitimate call from the Scotia Bank informing me that my card had been used at a business who's banking had been corrupted. I found this out by checking with my local branch. I needed a new debit card.
If you get this call, check with your branch. - KittyNumber was in an email telling me that my late husband's card had been used for Interac Debit transaction in an amount greater than is in the account. Definitely a scam, but going to check with bank.
- Caller: Scotiabank

- Warren| 1 replyI received a call that appeared to be from this number (which is Scotiabank's actual customer service number) but it was not. The caller claimed there was suspicious activity on my account but then demanded my full card number along with expiry date and security code in order to proceed. Scotiabank would never ask for this information. If you get a call from this number, let it go to voicemail. If it's actually Scotiabank calling, they will leave a message. The scammers are getting more clever everyday. Don't let yourself become their victim.

- Jo replies to WarrenI got the same call in the past 2 days. Both calls came from what appears to be a legitimate Scotiabank number (1-888-267-1609 and 1-800-472-6842). They are asking for the full credit card details including expiry and security code which gave me the red flag. I called Scotiabank directly and they confirmed they don't see any charges in my credit card or any outbound calls made to me on those days. These scammers are probably using some number spoofing device that allows them to mimic Scotia's legit number. I reported the incident to Scotiabank and I advise everyone to do the same as well. Be careful everyone.
- Vgot a call from this number advising me my credit card had suspicious activities, I told the woman I do not have credit card from Scotiabank then she started saying my name / address/ and email and said ISNT THIS YOU?! This is very scary and I would advise everyone to be caution.
- Caller: "Scotiabank"
- WA woman with Indian accent called me and told me that my Scotia Bank credit card was being used in China, she had my full name and asked me to act immediately, and I don't even have a Scotia Bank credit card. Her accent was terrible and I tried so hard to get what she was saying.
- Caller: Scotiabank
- TCGot multiples calls from this number telling me that my Scotiabank credit card had suspicious activities and I don't have a Scotiabank credit card. Told me that someone opened and picked up the card in China. Had my full name and address. Line was cutting in and out.
