Got a call from this number selling new TXU thermostats that show how much you are spending on electricity before you get your bill. They have called before and we told them we were not interested.  We recently replaced our heating and cooling system and already have a brand new thermostat. Have received their literature in the mail and emails and see their advertisement when I go to their website . . . and I am still not interested!

Need to read the fine print on that offer for the thermostat - they have the right (and the ability) to curtail your electric usage if there are large demands on their system.

It is TXU trying to sell those stupid thermostats. These are the ones that YOU pay for and allows them to turn off your air conditioning during peak usage periods. I told them to shove it. If they GAVE me one AND provided a decent enough discount I MIGHT consider it. Otherwise there is not a snow balls chance. They have emailed me about it, mailed me about it, put flyers in my bill and called multiple times. And they still can't understand I don't want their crap. The only company worse is Verizon FIOS with their constant attemps to get me to sign up.

I called the number back ....it was TXU and they wanted to install "their" thermostat.  First, I just bought a new one last year when I replaced my a/c unit -love it-can set up to 8 different temps per day; secondly, I don't want them to have access to my home via a "Free" thermostat.

They call, no name on ID caller, no one on the line when I answer. Reporting them to "Federal No Call" list. Filing complaint. TXU has been ripping us off enough. 1st meter put in we were paying 600 a month bills, accidently got broken and they replaced it. Or bills dropped to just over 200 a month. They they jumped to over 600 with the new smart meter, we complained and the bill is now down to just over 200 a month. We haven't changed the way we use electricity so why the different if not a rip off. Wish there had been someone on the line when I answered their call.... Have a few choice words to say about them trying to sell me something.

I got this, didn't pick it up.  I rent an apartment, so if it is the thermostat co, I don't own my own thermostat so .....their loss.

Yes they can.  It was on Fox 4 news within the last 6 months in an interview with University of Texas Arlington engineering professors.  It is another form of Big Brother watching you and yes they can control your energy usage remotely if they so choose during high energy demand and whenever else they see fit.

I have been getting these calls too. Finally got a phone that has a blocking ability and I use it. The DO NOT CALL lists do not work.
