Automated caller claims to be Duke Energy and sounds legit but is nothing more than a scam artist selling fear by suggesting your bill is over due and you're about to be cut off.

Automated call from 1-800-653-5307 stating power would be cut off if I didn't call 1-800-504-0653 within 30 min. and pay bill. I called the number and it sounded identical to Duke Energy, but it's a SCAM. I don't have Duke Energy. Glad I don't, called them and the lady told me to ignore calls, as I was trying to tell her many of their older customers would fall for this one because it sounded legit... She didn't care!

This is an enormous scam, be very careful. They do have basic information on the account however. Don't be fooled.
