This number called and asked for my medicaid and social security number. I asked him who he would like to speak to? He said he could not reveal that information. I then informed him that I the only one that live in the household and I was not on Medicaid and I hung up the phone and said that I could not help him.

I received a call from this number on my cell phone saying I had been automatically enrolled in Medicaid. I called back it's the NY State Medicaid program. But it didn't leave my name or anything on the message. I called the 800 number and they said it was probably a case of a wrong number. ??? I'm going to call back to make sure their is not someone using my identity.

I got a call from this number on my cell and they said on the menu before connecting me to a live person "we'll help you pick a health plan" funny thing I'm already enrolled in a health plan (my boyfriend as well....)and they instantly asked for my Medicaid number/ or SS number I felt uneasy since they didnt ask to speak to me directly by name. So I asked the representative who he was calling to speak to - He says I'm calling from the Medicaid office. I asked him again who are you calling for, he responds with his name I said again "not who am I speaking to? Who are you calling to speak to? He says "the person who owns this phone" I knew something was up. I told him 2 people own the phone (me and my boyfriend) so which one is he calling for. He couldn't provide me with a name so he then told me to have a nice night and hung up. SCAM!

Called my cell which is a NJ609 number from 914 9625312  left a message saying it was NY dept of social services  concerning medicaid then gave the 8005055678 ??? I'm New Jersey why would NY be calling me

Be careful of someone claiming to be from  N.Y Medicaid . They asked for my social security number and my Date of Birth.Told them they were not Allowed that information. I told them I will call Police !😉

I got a call from this telephone number on my cell phone on October 30, 2015. They  left a message saying they had put me on a health care plan they selected for me  If I wanted to talk to them about this to call them M-Fri 8 am to 5 pm or Saturday 10 am to 6pm. I will not be calling them back I think this is a scam because I  am not on medicaid . I also live in Florida and have never lived in NY.

Got a call from this number. They wanted my social security and Medicaid number. No way was I giving that out

they did not reply when i picked up. although i am in the process of picking a healthcare provider on medicaid. so i have no idea if my call was genuine or not. but i shall certainly be a lot more cautious after reading these comments. thank you everyone!

Call on my cell phone just now, Recording saying it was from Medicaid. I hung up immediately so didn't hear the spiel. Call showed no name. SCAM.

received a phone call ..caller id says  SUFFOLK COUNTY of  800 505 5678  .. if it really is an 800 number never call it back cause they will have your phone number then and ID..  they left a message saying that Medicaid was picking a plan that we might not like.. it's obviously a scam..........never mentioned names as others have stated............ im not calling it back.......... it's BS.........just like all the other scammers.. calling about computers...........irs..........etc..  suffolk county has nothing to do with us.........neither does
medicaid......... went to voicemail.......... idiots..................message was a prerecorded message most likely copied from a legitiate source..and put on their BS phone message.............

Robo-call message left stating my healthplan on Medicaid was about to be changed, and directing me to call back to choose.  I have received no letter or email about this from my State (they email about everything).

After reading the posts here, it is clear that some very sick individuals are trying to take advantage of "the system" and the fellow human beings they believe to be easy marks.

Caller ID said City of NY;  Voicemail warned me that I was being put into a Medicaid plan I may not have chosen.  (The number they called is unlisted, not given out and used as a fax line.)  I was told to call right away to verify my information.  (I am not on Medicaid and do NOT live in the City of New York.)  SCAM!

Caller is claiming that my SSN will be blocked permanently if I don’t speak with a Social Security administrator. It’s definitely a scam.

The following is the transcription of the message left by the "caller/scammer". The number left in the message is legit:
“Hello this is the Medicaid program calling you're about to be assigned to a health plan that may not have the doctors or hospitals you want to avoid this please call us at 1-800-505-5678 and the Medicaid choice counselor will help you if you have a reason why you should not join the health plan our counselors can also help you we are open Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 8 PM Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM again our number is 1-800-505-5678 hello this is a Medicaid program calling you're about to be assigned to a health plan that may not have the doctors or hospitals you want to avoid this please call us at 1-800-505-5678 and the Medicaid choice counselor will help you if you have a reason why you should not _⁠_⁠_⁠_ the health plan our counselors can also help you we are open Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 8 PM Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM again our number is 1-800-505-5678…”

I called this number because I thought and was told from an add on Facebook type of deal to earn money and it took me to this apparently it's  another scam I have fallen for they got me for. $37.00 probably actually are cleaning my bank account out right now don't fall for it like I just did your friend the born loser dam thieves !
