The number belongs to Colonial Penn Insurance. Earlier this year, a stranger knocked at my door, but I don't answer to strangers banging at my door that I don't expect, that is unsafe.  A few minutes later, he had the audacity to phone me.  He said he was from Colonial Penn and insisted I had asked about their insurance.  I never have, never, of any company.  I demanded their home office 800 number, he claimed he didn't have it but then found it under pressure.  I called them on the east coast, and let them know how I felt about coming to my door to scam me.  The first two calls, they refused to give me even their state license numbers and were hostile.  The third call, the guy insisted that I had called them THREE YEARS ago... and they were just following up NOW?  leaving no "loose threads..." They said.  I stated I never contacted them, never would, don't want and never needed life insurance and that they were scamming me.  I asked who the hell would wait three years to follow a lead!  They argued with me!  So I ask you, the reader:  what kind of insurance company waits three years to follow up on a lead...  what kind of company cold-calls at the door of a stranger, uninvited and unannounced...  and then lies and tries to convince me that I had called them??  Hmm?  They are scammers, but then, you could guess that because they need to advertise to gullible people on television in the middle of the night, we've all seen the ads, and as a rule, you can presume if it's on TV, it's probably crap or a lie.  I ended up filing a complaint in their state as well as the FTC, and they are handling it from there.  Don't fall for Colonial Penn, don't let them try to gaslight you.  I never needed life insurance and never would have inquired of anyone, let alone a fly-by-night company that needs to solicit so dishonestly!  Trust me, real insurance companies wouldn't wait three years to follow up on a potential customer.  Liars!
