Called my home phone. I do not recognize the number. Who is it?

It seemed like a spam ad to takeover mortgage payments....

It is a scam.

I, too, saw it posted on Craig's list.  I called and held for 10 minutes and once I got someone on the line, he told me about "minimum financial checks" and as he started to discuss the fees he had to put me on hold.  The line disconnected.  I called and held for another 7 minutes and cut to the chase with the next representative and asked her to go over the fees.  She quickly said the only fee was a $99 fee to do a deed transfer and title search.  She was talking very quickly and when I began to ask questions, the line conveniently disconnected again.  I smell a SCAM, although I don't know how they can successfully scam a person if they keep hanging up on them.

So I also saw this ad (or should I say NUMEROUS ads) on craigslist.  My boyfriend called and received similar info as "bride to be" although he didn't mention too many hang ups...hmmm?  Well I think it may be a scam.  Seems a bit fishy.  i just wish they would stop saturating the craigslist ads!  It's extremely annoying when you're house hunting...
