This call is from the College Career Foundation. You can contact them for more information. They are calling parents of high school students and provide college bound students, test preparation material for the SATs and ACTs. The offer is for a 30 day in home evaluation, which includes practice testing, study, etc.

The College Career Foundation appears to be a ripoff and/or scam.  They are not BBB accredited and they hang up on you if you start to ask them questions about what they are offering and how they got our number in the first place.

Yes , when I called them back after checking with my child who HAD NOT requested the material , and I said it sounds good but I'll need to contact the school tomorrow or the triple B to make sure it's on the up and up.

I was told loudly to " GO FU*K YOURSELF".  Which I replied " I'd tell you to F yourself but genetics has already F'd you more than your pathetic impotent self could ever F yourself.

Yes they are a scam that scammed me. I was told I needed a credit card to get the materials for my daughter that the charge would stay pending until they received the materials back within the 30 days. They charged the card, I returned the materials and they said the charge would come off after I returned them. I'm still trying to straighten this out. Don't do it!!!

I had the exact same thing happen as Christine.  This happened in August and I am still trying to get my money back.  I have reported them to the BBB, the California Attorney General's office and my credit card company.  I have also been looking everywhere online to post negative comments about them.  Definitely a SCAM!

I asked for an email detailing the agreement before providing my credit card number and was hung up on.

The name they used was 'SAT College Testing' and not once during the initial conversation did they say we would pay for these materials, just that they were on loan until February 28th and the cc was to be held in case the materials were not returned.

As parents we'd to anything to help our kids succeed and they are preying on us with misinformation.

I want to know where they are getting their leads from...

This same thing just happened to me. 30 days for free material and now I have a charge for over $200 on my card.  Don't sign up!

Do NOT buy fall for this... they said my child asked for their ACT study product... my child did not ask for anything of the kind.  They restrict the number when they call now.  My spouse unknowingly ordered the product.  He did ask for a return number and was lucky enough to get one... I called to cancel... waiting to see if they take the $200 plus dollar charge of my card.  I have already contacted the credit card company.

And the saga continues - they charged my credit card under the name College Advancement Testing, but identify themselves on the phone as Educational Testing.  I called about 30 minutes after the order was placed to cancel - they sent the material anyway and charged my credit card.   I called them today and they confirmed that they sent the order and now I have to send the stuff back.  I believe they are incorporated in California under the name Educational Testing and Assessment.  The address given for that corporation is someone's home - per google street view - I am filing a complaint with the state Attorney General's office.  This guy is ridiculous...

Yes do not use this. They used my name and got my mother to purchase this "program". My mother thought that it would be helping me out, but they charged her $500 for a "disc" we never got. She has called the number many times and left messages, but no one has answered. She has contacted the Attorney's Generals Office, and the credit card company.

I got a call today (I think they called twice previously and never left a message).  They said I would receive 2 discs in the mail and I would not be charged for 30 days.  I asked them to mail out the discs on Aug 1, since my son will be out of town until then. Wouldn't you know that they hit up my credit card right away.  I received an alert within 2 mins of hanging up the phone.  Fortunately AMEX said the charge was in pending status, which means the charge had not been applied to my account yet.  We will continue to monitor the card to see if the charges actually show up.  If so, I already have a dispute notice on file and they won't receive any of my money.

Actually, the call I received today was from a local Denver, CO number, but the caller gave me this 800 number to call if I had any questions or to notify them when I was ready to return the discs.  When I called the 800 number, I got a recording that said please leave your number and someone will call you back.  I didn't leave my number.  Even the recorded message sounded fake.  That's when I called AMEX and told them not to approve the charges.  I just checked my phone log and I was correct, it was a local Denver number and they had called me twice before on Thursday, June 30th.  I will post back again and provide status updates.

June 2016, Looks like they changed their phone number to include 800-892-2153.  Same info as previous people on this thread.  Received a call from College Prep who said they got my number from my child's high school for info on ACT and SAT materials and said I could review materials for 30 days without being charged.  However, my credit card was charged within 2 days for a little over $216 from College Advancement Testing.  I immediately returned the materials I received unopened and put the charge in dispute with my credit card company.   Now I'm looking at my September statement and they charged me $69.95 for services I never purchased.  I tried calling 800-892-2153 but had to leave a message to inform them I was putting this charge into dispute with my credit card company.  I've also put a block on this company for any future charges they might try to wrongly incur.

I blame it on my eagerness to help my daughter as much as I can with her tests, but yes, I fell for this scam. The number I received the call from was the 800-892-2153 number. Exact same issue as everyone else. When we returned the discs (unopened), we received the package back saying "returned for better address." I have the certified card though, so I know they received it back. I filed a fraudulent claim with my credit card company and they reversed the initial $216.32 charge. Then I was charged $69.95 and I called the credit card company again and asked them to block the vendor. I assumed that second charge was because "Rick" had supposedly not received the discs back. However, the charge appeared again today on my credit card. Curious, I called Rick and very politely asked him what the charge was for. He told me it was for use of tutors and online services. I told him I never authorized that charge and asked him to remove it, which he said he would. Of course, I know he won't and I'll be calling my credit card company again. I'm just kicking myself for falling for this, but it definitely makes me realize just how sophisticated these guys can be. I even thought I was being smart and checked out their website: https://satactcollegetesting.org/component/users/?view=registration. Obviously any hack can create a legit looking website nowadays.

I got a call from them today (Nov 2016) and talked to Jennifer who said they got our number because my daughter filled out some form at school. Since I just talked to her about ACT a few days ago it did sound legit and I decided to go for it. Fortunately our CC company was more alert than me and declined the transaction. The "college" people actually called me again asking to call the CC and ask them approve it, but in a meantime my daughter came back home and said she never requested anything. So we contacted our CC to make sure that they cancel the transaction. Can't believe I fell for it... I guess I really wanted to help her with those test...

Thank you guys for posting this... We got a call out of the blue from them and my daughter's BS filter was working. She told us that the SAT board are not allowed to release names, adresses and phone numbers. We told them we would research it first before giving them the CC. The guy on the phone was nice enough about it, referred us to a wrbsite and ended the call.  Guess what came up first when we typed in the 800 number, he gave us?

I too fell for this and am kicking myself. 😡 I don't like that they know about my student at all. Has ANYONE gotten their money back? By all the things I've read, I doubt it.
