Who is calling from 800-536-9633?

I just called the # back after they called my cell phone and didnt leave a message.  The man answering answered "services".  When I asked who called me he asked for my phone number. I gave him it, then he asked for my name.  I refused and he said he wouldnt tell me who was calling me unless I gave my name.  I hung up.

Same for me.  Very unpleasant.  Filed complaint with FCC Do-Not-Call list

Where did you find out they are Harvard CA?

I received a call this evening and I didn't answer it went directly to my voice mail and the guy said he wanted me to call back cause I had information of some lady I don't know? and it was an emergency he said he wasn't trying to sell me anything? Well I'm just a little worried how whoever this is got my number I don't know who they are?

That number is listed on my criedit report, under Harverd Collections. I called them back, it rang 14 times then hung up

it's a collection agency calling to harass you to pay back your student loans.

calls, says its important, that i contacted them in the past..never heard of them, nor did i ever contact them

It was REALLY strange. Jennifer from services called and said i NEED to call her back.. NO THANKS.

Watch your credit report!  I happened to check mine since you can do so for free and it showed I have a collection from this Harvard Collection Agent.  But, when I called Harvard, they have no record of me in their system.  And, they won't update the credit agencies since they don't have me in their system.  Called Sprint, and my account is fine and they have never reported it to collection.  I am STILL trying to get this off my credit report!

Mr. Love called from the Illinois Department of Revenue about an urgent tax issue.  This number was displayed so I let it go to voice mail. Thanks to this website, I won't be calling back to the different number he left in the voicemail. I'll contact the real IDR to see if using their name in a collection scam is illegal. Boy, I hope so!

they've been calling here for weeks for someone who doesn't live here.  i took the time to get to an operator last week who said we'd be taken off their list. she lied.  they also left a message to call another number 800 214 2098

Got the same call, but spoke with them...  i got another call today and the individual on the phone was incredibly abusive.  i filed a complaint with the fcc and per their advice, i am filing a complaint with the attorney general.

i urge you to do the same

They call everyday around the same time with an automated recording asking for someone who doesnt work here. I spoke to someone and asked then to take me off of the list. She asked me a ton of questions trying to figure out if I knew the person they were trying to reach. She says she took me off of the list, lets see what happens.

I kept getting repeated messages for someone I have never heard of, but who shares my first initial/last name, on my answering machine. A recording said, "Press 1 if you are Lou Smith. Press 2 if you are not Lou Smith." Of course, my answering machine can't press anything. Then that same message was repeated. Then, the recording said, "If you are still on this call, you are verifying that you are Lou Smith." How frustrating! Do they not allow for answering machines? Anyway, after receiving about 10 of these calls - always on my answering machine - I called and got my number removed from their list. I had to ask the name of the company or I wouldn't know, and then I looked it up online. It's Harvard Collection Services, 4839 N. Elston Ave, Chicago, IL 60630.  They were abrupt and didn't apologize for my inconvenience, so have at it with them - no love lost there!

calls me about 2 times every other day, they left a message once could'nt understand it tried calling them once and got an automated message then just hung up. collection company i'm sure i am way too young to be needed money from they obviously have the wrong guy

They called my house phone and left no msg on my answering machine. Lucky my caller ID picked up the number and I was forced to look up the phone number online. After about 10 attempts to call them back, I finally got a hold of a woman who was trying to reach my ex wife.  My ex and I have been divorced for over a year now and has NEVER been associated with my current home phone number.  I asked this woman how she got my phone number and her reply was, "Sir, we're a collection agency.  Don't you know it's our job to get related phone numbers for people we're trying to reach?".  I asked her, "That still doesn't explain how you got MY home phone number.  Can you please tell me how you got it?". She then told me that if I thought they acquired my phone number illegally, that I should contact the BBB (Better Business Bureau).  I laughed and said, "Maybe I should!".

Long story short, they were attempting to reach someone who hasn't lived in my home for well over a year.
