- Angry Lady| 15 repliesI have gotten a call from CK & Associates trying to collect a debt that is 7 years old. They even contacted my family saying it was for legal complaint towards me. They just called me again at work his name Mike Martinez. I was so naïve & scared when I first spoke with them that I gave him my card information then realized it was a scam so I cancelled my card. The payment declined now he's calling me again to tell me it declined & that he can only hold off the dispatcher for a few hours. How sad that this guy is sitting there scamming people out of their hard earned money.

http://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/ - Smart Consumer replies to Angry LadyI received several calls from this caller as he was trying to get me to make a lump sum payment of $902 to satisfy a debt for lane Bryant that I know I paid. He seemed to get agitated when I requested time to review my credit report. But thank goodness I didn't fall victim
- CK & Associates replies to Angry Lady| 11 repliesThis is a legal attempt to collect a debt for a past due collection that still falls under the FDCPA statue of limitations.
Anyone can pull their own credit report to verify if the debt. Perform a "Chain of Title" search from the initial creditor to verify who owns the debt. This will confirm who currently owns the debt and is allowed to collect upon it. - The-Nine replies to CK & AssociatesWho ever taught you have to write failed. "Anyone can pull their own credit report to verify if the debt" what?? Exists, is a figment of your imagination, like the idea that you ever had an intelligent? Go away.

- AshleyOmg the exact same thing happened to me. 7 year old debt to Lane Bryant. They called my mom saying they were a law firm and had a subpoena for me. They said they have been trying to contact me and sent letters to my house but this is the first I've heard from them. They had my old address and my current address but not the apartment number. I was stupid and gave it to them. I didn't give them my card number though. I set up payments with them but looking on here, plus the fact that the agreement he sent to me went to my spam folder, I'm thinking I'm going to ignore it and go to a credit counselor.

- Sure replies to CK & Associates| 1 replyWhatever, scumbags
- ShillKill replies to SureAbsolutely! Lazy ones at that. It is their job to validate the ownership of the debt if requested, not the consumer's!
- n/aYes, this company is calling asking for personal info. that they should already have if they are the ones that know me and have my number.. If you are being called by them do NOT give them any information about you
- Caller: CK Associate
- david shaffergot a call for some one with the same name as mine or my sons. the caller was very indignant and insulting and was (I suspect)
trying to get money or information I hung up on them and called the number back and supposedly got a supervisor who apologized and said my number would be removed from the list. The state attorney generals office will be getting an official call from me in regard to this.- Caller: ck & associates

- ECI got the same thing re: lane Bryant!!!! I'm so glad I saw this too. This number is listed all over the reverse look ups. I contacted a lawyer friend of mine who said they broke about 3 fair credit laws when speaking with me and the 5 days waiting period to send a letter to validate debt since first speaking with me has far surpassed. Like many others wrote above... they are extremely rude and threatening and a complete scam!
- maribelThis guy called me asking me if i still living at the same place because they will send me some paper work to appear in court. They also gave a case number and a 800 number to call and update the address but 8t always busy.
- Caller: pinellas county court
- Fed Up| 1 replyThis company called my job saying they will serve me with papers at work. When I called the 800-539-1931, they refused to tell me the state they were doing business in, what the "CK" stands for, and how to contact the process servers. They also told me that their number would never show up in my caller id. When I asked why they were being so ambigious in their identity, the man stated, "Is this a word you just learned today?" This clearly told me he was a scam.
- Caller: CK and Associates
- Elspeth replies to Fed UpDebt collection is a process - if you owe money, you won't hear about it first through a phone call saying you'll be "served". BTW, no one gets a heads up they'll be served - it would sort of defeat the point.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=se ... s=call+blockers - ZGot 3 calls from this guy. He identified himself as Andrew Vega. Called my parents home too. Same story as many here. Said he is from the process service and verification dept. [no company name given] and is calling in reference to a complaint filed at this office. He said that I'm on a roster to be served and I need to call 800-539-1931 to discuss this matter. This guy has the ability to mask the number he is calling from. On my caller id log, it shows no record of his calls but there are other unavailable/blocked numbers that are logged in at different times. The way I know this is from the time stamp on my message machine.
Thanks to this site and based on the blatant vagueness and secretiveness of his call, I realize this is a scam and will avoid this guy.- Caller: SCAM- Process and Service Verification Dept. -- SCAM
