Just received call from this number. I answered but did not say a word. They hung up.without saying anything. BTW I have never had a JC Penny charge.

Received a call from this number on my cell phone. I did not answer, as I did not recognize the number. I did call that number back, and it was JCPenney financial services. Upon speaking to a representative, i asked if they had called me within the past 5 minutes. They had no record of placing that call to my cell number. I advised them that someone was using their number in a phishing/scam call, and advised them. They thanked me and said they would look into it.

The exact same thing Just  happened to me.

I received the following text from a number titled 32421:
FreeMsg: Synchrony Bank. Your mailing address on your JCPenney Credit Card account needs to be updated. To continue to receive important info on your account, update your address online or call 8005420800.  To opt out reply STOP

I never had a JCPenny Credit Card. I do not deal with Synchrony Bank either. Scam text.
