I did not receivee calls but Some one too money from my bank account on 9/9/2009 : 111.75 $. On my bank account sheet I got that phone number 800-555-1234. I need this money back or I have to go to the police. Who took this money ROONIES LLC.
What is this ?

This is a number company's can use for their caller Id that does not allow for debtor to call back the appropriate company just by redialing the number, so they must use the number listed in a voicemail. So yes, you may have figured out one company who uses this feature but they may or may not have been the company who actually called you because there are many .. you can't 'blame' it on only one company.

Rcvd a call from 800-555-1234 and no one answered

No call but the number showed up against a transaction on my credit card. The amount was $100.00 and the comment was "Season Tickets". This was a fraudulent transaction.

Got a call asking for donations, something about "Save the Homosapians"; apparently they are facing a loss of habitat, sounds important but I don't trust this number.

As a matter a fact a the bank you take the loan out from will hire someone to repossess you car boat truck whatever it is or in this case the company Renaissance Recovery Services is hired by major financial institutions in help in the recovery of a bank owned unit then this company once they locate you they will go ahead and hire a driver this company is a nationwide company and are very good at what they do trust me. I never had them take anything of mine but I know some people who work there and also towing companies that get work from them and they always get their car or whatever they are looking for.

These calls are annoying which is why I don't answer the phone on first ring.

RRS is no different than a bill collector except that they have subscriptions to a couple computer programs for info like cell phone numbers etc. Whoop de doo. I bet the majority of the losers that work there are one paycheck from collection activity as well if not worse.

If people are actually out for repossession they should research the law and know what CAN and CANT happen to them when they are out for repo. A lot of ppl assume when they hand the car over to the tow truck driver asking for it that the problem goes away. It doesn't. You might as well run that damn car into the ground if you are already unable to pay in full, because giving it up will not satisfy the loan amt the bank is trying to collect, and after these idiot repo companies come in w/ their charges and fees to 'recover' your car you will still owe a crap ton of money.

all you have to do is answer... if you are the person they are trying to talk to HANDLE THE CALL, if not and they have the wrong number how are they supposed to know if you dont tell them... BE SMART. Dont come on a website and complain about it...

OH and P.S. according to FDCPA you can call up to 3 times a day without leaving  a message...stupid tards.

We just received a call from this number identifying themselves as Nationwide Security....saying that our checking account was compromised on the internet because of our internet bill paying. They wanted the bank rounting number off of our checks. We hung up at this point.

They already had our name, address and telephone number.

Same as Helene. I'm getting a couple calls, sometimes 3 times a day. When I answer, no one is there. When I call back, it says "there's no service at this number".

I'm in Quebec, Canada.
