Caller stated They are trying to reach me because I owe Citibank 5000.00 and it’s going to court. I do not and have not ever owed Citibank. Now calling other family members. Beware this is not legitimate.

I received a notice in the mail saying because of a federal tax lien in my name my Social Security, wages, and bank accounts would be seized if I did not contact J.S. Brown at this number. 800-591-1319. I knew it was a scam when they didn’t get my name spelt right. Always do your research before responding to a threatening phone call or something you received in the mail.

This number called me stating they were from Amazon and wanted my information for a $497.00 charge made to my prime account of which I do not have. Fake fraud.  Why are these people not being shut down.  They are scammers.  They had Muslim Indian accents.

Many of these scams are being done from other countries, where our laws do not apply and our law enforcement has no jurisdiction.  Even for the domestic based scams, it takes time to find them and build enough of a case against them that they can be arrested.  Real life is not like the TV cop shows where every case is solved in a 60 minute episode.

Person called about remote work

Do not send money to this company, scam. They told me that I need to pay $48,000 to IRS.

DO NOT CALL THEM. It will only verify that you exist and then they will annoy you more and try harder to scam you. They are pretending to be tax collector and also send letters from a "CPA" company trying to collect the funds. It's completely a scam.  Be careful!

Received letter in the mail called as DISTRAINT WARRANT stating seizure or forfeiture may be imminent due to non-payment of taxes.  First give away was office hours were 6am to 6pm - but those are the office hours of county government offices in my neck of the woods.  Listed the phone number of 800/591-1319 to call to dispute.  HA!

800-591-1319, received a letter with no other info although it indicated/referenced the city I live in regarding tax debt… suspected it to be fraudulent because it’s postmarked from the other side of the country.
