Claiming to be from the Attorney General Office Employer Maintenance Unit, they asked us to call back to "verify and update" information about our company.

Our company also received a call today from a Jane Ringly to call back at 800-591-7614 from the Attorney General Office Employer Maintenance Unit to "verify and update" information about our company.  Gave us an employer ID number to make it sound official.  If it were a legitimate call, I believe they would have left a more detailed explanation as to why they are calling and the employer ID they left does not correspond to any governmental ID our company has.

I won't be calling back and if it is legitimate, they will call back and explain themselves and give enough information to me first so that I can verify they are legitimate.  Don't give your information out to anyone you don't know or can't very who they are!!!!!!!!!

Received a call from this number asking to speak to someone regarding payroll.  Left a reference number.  This might be legitimate, because I recently received a notice that one of my employees is required to pay child support in Texas, and a google search of the number does list it as Employers Maintenance Unit- Child Support - Texas Attorney General's Office.  I am still not calling back, though.  I will deal with them via their mailed correspondence just to be safe .

Received a message this week, also with a reference number.  Claimed to be ARIZONA Attorney General's office.  Search says legitimate Texas AG, but I agree with previous comment--I will deal with mail correspondence only.

Also received a call from this number July 3, 2017.  Message stated call was from Attorney General's Office (no state mentioned) also with a reference number   I returned the call but grew increasingly concerned with questions asked.  When they wanted our EIN I asked that they tell me what they had on file and it was no where near correct to our information.  I ended the conversation and asked them to correspond by mail for any further information.  We handle many child support payments for employees, but something seemed a bit off with this call.

Received call from 1800-591-7614. Caller name Brandi asked for someone in payroll department regards to Child Support. I told her to left call back number. She gave me phone number ( which was 1800-591-7614) and reference number. Well!! I agreed with previous comment , I will deal with mail correspondence later.

Mary calling from 210-246-7010 said calling from Employer Maintenance Unit of Texas Attorney General Child Support  with 2 reference numbers to verify addresses. She listed 2 old addresses for our business. We do not have employees. Only contractors and as such do not garnish wages.

Definitely sounds like scam.

Received multiple calls from this number saying they were from the Attorney General Child Support Division (no State mentioned). The people left no detail and spoke really fast. I felt it was suspicious and did not call back. If they are legit, they will mail a letter!
