As soon as I saw this and read the letter I knew it was a scam. My husband is the only one that services my vehicle and I have never had it serviced or warrantied by any company.
It is sad that there are some people that are not aware that this is a scam and can be taken.
Sure it looks legit to the untrained eye, but one should NEVER give out their VIN number or any information to a stranger, especially one that pursues you with letters or calls. If you didn't need it before they offered it than you don't need it now. If you do have a warranty, find the original paperwork and contact the company. DO NOT TRUST ANYONE with your personal information.
    P.S.
Same company info that Eric provided was on the letter I recieved.I wonder if they have been reported to the authorities yet? Normally I receive bogus letters and scam offers but they usually do not include an address. So this one is a very organized bunch of lowlifes.

You are correct...WARRANTY ACTIVATION HEADQUARTERS, 12244 Tesson Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO DOES indeed target the elderly !!

My 88 yr old mother lives with us and she receives mailings from this company about every three months.

I have NEVER received a mailing from them.

Why are these facts significant, you ask??

My mother as noted, is 88 years old.  She has not had a driver's license in 12 years.  She has not driven a car in 12 years AND she has not owned or had a car registered to her in 12 years.

I, on the other hand, by virtue of the fact that my schedule is the most flexible within the family, have four cars registered in my name AND I have NEVER received one of these solicitations.

It doesn't take a PhD from MIT to figure out that Warranty Activation Headquarters is targeting the elderly.

I have warranty with Warranty Activation Headquarters, I have also used my warranty at my local dealership 3 times! They offer several different policy ...you do get what you pay for. If you buy a cheaper policy that covers just engine and transmission and you have a power lock go out...it wont cover it! If you spend more money for better coverage it will cover electronics.
They are not a scam, they have paid several claims for me.....and I got a letter and im 33 years old, so they dont just target older people!

Thank you Warranty Activation for setting me up with the right policy that fits my needs!

I took out a policy with these folks 2 months ago. I had my engine go out and they paid almost $8700 to have  a new engine put in. You guys must be talking about another company. I was referred by my daughter who is only 28 and received the letter. I cannot say anything but good things about them

I received a letter from this "company" stating the vehicle repair coverage for my 2005 Dodge may be expired or about to expire.  I don't own a Dodge (and never have.)

I don't think they got my information from my car's dealership since the dealership misspells my last name (The letter I got spelled it correctly.)
