Got a call at 8:24 from this number. The box says "800 service" Thought a bit early for scammers, so I called back. Voicemail picks up with "extension 5255 is unavailable..."

So if it looks like a scam, it probably is.

8:30-ish this morning: obvious robot recording on my voicemail, cut off at the beginning (during the outgoing message), then repeating the number from which they were calling and saying “don’t disregard this notice and do return the call before we start the legal proceedings against you thank you”. There is absolutely nothing anyone could have any “legal proceedings” against me about. People in law practice do NOT contact people this way, ever! FCC/electronic regulation/enforcement is utterly inadequate! Phone carriers make $$ off this nonsense.
