- Boston HollyYikes, thanks ! they are threatening to shut off my power because I am sending them $100 to catch up on a $400 bill. What i don't understand is why they would offer to put me on a payment plan that would commit me to a year's plan @ $150 when I will be able to pay it off in a few more months. They know I'm financially strapped and after having spent an hour on the phone with them, I told them I already participated in that plan and because it's a once in a lifetime offer to forgive 1/2 of my balance if I pay a certain amount per month, they said "oh, you're not eligible" . they why are they calling and sending me letters offering the program again.

- Bruce_in_MAI got a call today from this number. Said hallo 3 times but now answer, except for the last second when my finger was already pushing the OFF button, I heard something on the other end. This is a typical telemarketer trick, to not start a new conversation before the old one is still in progress.
Number 2, the caller ID was not NSTAR but "Unavailable", which points more towards a Scam.
Number 3, I am not behind on my Nstar bill, so no reason to call me "to cut a deal".
So - this stinks of Scam - so be careful!- Caller: Unavailable
- Paul WI received a call from 800-592-2000 a few hours before a major snow storm. I didn't pick up the phone, but the caller left a message. It was an automated call from NSTAR Electric Company advising customers that a blizzard was expected and that power outages may occur. The message also offered advice about preparing for possible power outages.
I am a customer of NSTAR.- Caller: NSTAR

- NicoleLive in Boston, not sure who it is,, but we are getting lots of snow, do I will guess based on past posts that it is a winter weather warning regarding lost electricity. Prob nstar.

- Tzarita88| 1 replyGot a call from this number warning me of a "power outage" due to extreme weather. I understand it's from Boston. Excuse me, but, I live in New Mexico, about 80 miles from the Mexican border thousands of miles from Boston. I've had lots of scam calls as well as stupid ones, but this one has to be from a company of idiots.
- Caller: Nstar
- not Michael replies to Tzarita88What's your area code? No, don't post it here. But if you lived in the north east, Boston or further up the coast, and you kept your phone number when you moved you might be getting calls aiming for that area. So it could be a simple wrong number. Or it could be a scam.
- Vinny D.This could have been NSTAR advising of a power outage because I recieved 2 of them (after I lost it) 9 and 0 this am. It was down for a few hours. but obviously not for snow reasons but they are doing work on my street. I didn't pick up though.
- MinCalled 8:12 am on a Sunday. Left no message.

- Paul-CReceived a call from this telephone number. No message was left. I called the number back and it is for Eversource...formerly known as NSTAR.

- MarieLong voicemail from Eversource warning of possible power outages, but Caller ID says UNAVAILABLE. Company can spend untold millions on unnecessary rebranding but can't figure out Caller ID?

- Steve in MACaller ID says "UNAVAILABLE". They leave a message.
They say they are Eversource (formerly known as NSTAR). They leave a message about power outages that matches up with what is actually going on. So in my case, the call is what it claims to be.
I call them up later and ask why they spoof their caller ID (the default CID is of the form (xxx) xxx xxxx). I receive assorted gobbetly goop from the operator. "UNAVAILABLE" took effort. I suspect they default to "UNAVAILABLE" so when they are calling about a late bill, people will take the call. They continue to use this default CID for benign uses such as power outages.
I suggest a more reasonable CID. A reasonable choice would be "Eversource". The operator says she will pass this suggestion along; I am not sure if I believe her.- Caller: Eversource (formerly known as NSTAR)

- Rebekah In MaCaller said they are national grid power company and they are letting me know that in 45 minutes they will be here to shut off my power for non payment. The guy stated my address and I was told to call this phone number 844-257-1142 to pay it before they come here. BUT I don't have National Grid and never have. He was very rude and started to yell at me when I asked him for the number again. I didn't even bother calling the other number he screamed at me and I just hung up.
