this is a collection agency in Savannah, GA. Lanier Collection Agency & Services, or LCA Services. Polite enough, but probably because I was unaware of who it was myself till I googled it later.

i received a call from 800-595-0280. I do not know who it is they are looking for because when i answer the phone it hangs up on me. They call all the time but usually when i'm at work. I do know once you answer a call from a collection agency though they will not stop calling! Your better off telling them they have the wrong number.

Yes, this is Lanier Collection agency. When I tried to call the number back, it just clicked once. No ringing, no voicemail.

i don't answer unknown phone calls but she left a message from Lanier Collection Agency in Savannah GA..which is weird, because i don't owe any credit card debt or anything like that at all...

As the other folks have confirmed, this # is for LCA. In my case, they were calling about old medical & vet debt. If you get a voicemail, they'll usually leave the rep's name and number but not mention their company name. I've had mixed experiences with them.  Dodging their calls didn't do any good, and they seem to never give up regardless of the age of the debt or the dollar amount. Dispute the debt if you don't think it's legit, but don't dodge them bc they'll keep it up. After making payment arrangements, they didn't call until after the promised payment date. If you talk to someone that is rude, I'd suggest reaching out to them later bc they do have a few nice folks on staff.

Sounds like you work for them.   But whether or not you work for them; if they engage in scammy debt collecting tactics--they're going to be slammed up against the wall on this site.  No matter what you say.   Think about it.
