This caller calls every day once, sometimes twice since 12/12/2007. I don't do any business with that caller and I want this call to stop immediately. Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,

i get called at least twice a week...on my cell phone which i've only had for one month...always at times when they are closed.  i know i don't have any outstanding payments with anyone.  the last ticket i got was 3 years ago.

i get calls from companies like GM, utility companies, and banks on my landline a few times a week.  the names they are looking for are hispanic or middle eastern.

as far as heavy accent, not surprised.  i trained for a call center job once.  2 out 20 were american.  the rest were vietnamese or from india.  if you call the IRS you'll get India.  if you call medicaid, you'll most likely get the phillipines.

the company is based in texas.  i went to their website to find a way to get them to stop calling.  i gave them my phone number.  http://www.muniserv.com/contact.aspx.  told them i have no outstanding fines and don't owe anyone any money.  that was just before a weekend.  i recieved an email the following monday stating that my number will be put on the wrong number list and be removed from the call list.

phone numbers are recycled after about 30 days from disconnect, sometimes less.  by the time a collection agency gets a bill it's about 90 days.  this explains phone calls for other people.  it would be nice if other people took care of their bills...especially those not here legally.

    here to help
We received an automated message on our answering machine regarding an "important court matter."  When we called, we were told there was an unpaid traffic ticket from 1996 for $97 and there was a warrant out for my husband's arrest.  We immediately called the police station from the issuing county (looking up the number ourselves) and they verified that there was a ticket but it was paid in 2001.  And of course, there was no warrant (scare tactic to get you to pay first before verifying anything).  They said they would forward this information to the collections agency that it was paid.  Obviously, the collections agency does not have current data or are choosing to ignore it.  I just hope this does not go on any credit reports, as it is false, but once the damage is done, its hard to reverse.  The collections agency wanted our address but we didn't give them anything - there was no reason for them to be calling in the first place.  My suggestion: call the police to verify the ticket just in case but I definitely would not give them a dime!

They call using scare tactics regarding bogus arrest warrants and speeding tickets in states I have never lived. I have asked them not to call.

I didn't get a call, but a letter claiming to be urgent and saying I had an outstanding citation in Miami from 1992, that my license is suspended, and to pay immediately. Threatening to turn me into the credit bureau and will be happy to take my payment via money order, bank transfer, credit card, or check.
Who can I report these people to?

Got a call from "Yohan", saying he was calling from the Miam-Dade municiple Court and expected a call from me at the end of the day. That was it , no other information. Since I live in Wisconcin and have never been to Miami I decided to google the number. WOW! I am going to have to keep reading here and figure out how to stop future calls. I really do not want to be pleagued with call after call! Has anyone found out more on this?

I RECIEVED A LETTER STATED THAT MY LICENSE HAS BEEN SUSPENDED IN THE STATE OF FLA.WELL I CALLED THE FLA HIGHWAY PATROL AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THIS AND THEY RAN A CHECK ON MY LICENSE AND CAME BACK CLEAR.AND I TOLD THEM THAT I HAD PAID FOR A TICKET, BUT DADE COUNTY HAD A LITTLE PROBLEM WITH PPL STEALING FROM THE COURTS! SO THE COUNTY NEVER LET ME KNOW THAT IT WAS NOT PAID,AND I HAVE LIVED IN DADE FOR 30 YRS AND THEY DID NOT CONTACT ME ABOUT THIS.BUT IN TALKING TO THE FHP,THEY SAID ANYTHING AFTER 11YRS THAT THIS IS VOID IN THEIR SYSTEM.SO I CONTACTED THE FTC AND THEY ARE LOOKING INTO THIS MATTER.UNDER THE FLA LAW A COLLECTION AGENCY  CAN NOT CALL OR HARASS.AND THAT IS WHAT MSB IS DOING.

We have received several calls from 800-616-0166, but they never left a message.  I answered a call this morning out of curiousity, and the lady asked for my stepson.  She said that she was calling on behalf of our local municipal court about some outstanding traffic fines, which is true.  Since my stepson doesn't live here anymore, she apologized for calling.  Hopefully, the calls will stop now.

This is legit for us too. Dh had an outstading fine for "failure to sterilize a pet" from 1998!! Who knew? Yes he remembers the cat, and yes  he didn't provide proof to the animal shelter when he got it fixed, so this is a real fine for us. The people who called from this number weren't rude at all, and they did give me the info of the city office to call to verify the case.

    are you kidding...so fake
I have never been to florida, and therefore, I am not worried that my "florida driver's license" will be suspended.  This is so obviously a scam.  I also love how the people from the company are definitely writing on here about how it's legit.  If a legit company called you about a fine, why would you look them up on the internet and write about how they're so legit.  Are you kidding me, you idiots?

call your city and county courthouses.  they are the ones sending your information to the agency, which by the way is a legitimate company.  i live in kansas, this agency is in texas.  a lot municipal courts use them.  i called the courthouse where i live and they had me taken off the list.

no it isn't a fraud.  5 minutes of research will prove that.  your court house is sending ALL information rather than just what is outstanding.  the number they call me on is a cell phone i've only had a few months so i know they aren't calling for me.  phone numbers are recycled every 6 weeks.  if you have a new phone, it may not be u they're looking for.

Actually, this is real--my daughter had an outstanding ticket and her insurance was being cancelled because she hadn't paid it. Our agent knew all about them. So be wise and check things out before you have bigger problems.
