- Sandra| 1 replyI got a call from this number today. All they wanted was to pray for me and my special needs. I asked for a prayer for financial security. The girl on the other end prayed with me on the spot and never asked me for anything. Just said to have a wonderful day.
- K| 1 replygot several calls from this number 800-628-7972 but no one ever talks, caller ID states "not provided". I just let the answering machine talk to whom ever.
- Jacob replies to KThis is Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA...the late Jerry Falwell was minister.
- Gotten Too Many| 4 repliesEven though these calls are from a church, and the intentions are good, we're getting repeat calls - and would rather not receive them anymore! They are beginning to be a nuisance. So the good intentions have fallen a little. Maybe the caller should try using email, since the phone ringing with repeat calls (sometimes about the same subject) can be disruptive at times, while email can be accessed when it's convenient. That would be appreciated! Caller, if you read this - please reconsider placing yourself in the group that's considered "nuisance callers".
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- C Black replies to Gotten Too Many| 1 replyHaving someone pray for you should never be consider a nuisance.
- Liberty Grad| 1 replyOh ok ... that makes sense then. I usually answer any and every call to my mobile phone but ironiclly havent been able to when they called. In response to "Gotten too Many", I agree. This was beginning to be annoying simply because I had no idea who they were. Would have rather received an email or - they should leave a prayer for the person on the voicemail. Great intentions though, keep it up if u read this ... just leave a message!
- Barry replies to Liberty GradIt is also the number used by the Liberty University in Lynchburg (also a Jerry Fallwell institute). I am an alum and get calls from them concerning special events - like homecoming.
- AnHonestChristianGirl replies to C BlackAmen, C Black! I would consider it a blessing in society today that these people care enough to take time out of their day to pray with a hurting world!
- newtyep, they called me today about alumni events at LU. But also took the time to pray with me about any concerns- and it meant sooooo much. Awesome.
- Jay replies to SandraIt's Liberty University out of Lynchburg, VA... a religious university started by Jerry Falwell.
- LU GradI am a LU grad and recently updated my alumni contact info...calls started coming in today. No message, just repeat calls. Why not leave a message? I was alarmed when I googled the number and saw LU Police Department as the first match.
- LU AlumJust updated my info on the site and started getting these calls. I keep missing them so I tried to call back to find out who it was on the other end. I was on hold listening to gospel music for a long time...no one ever answered. Now I know its Liberty, so no harm done. They should consider leaving a message so the next time they call (had I not found out who they were) I will answer.
- ChristianLady replies to Gotten Too ManyFrom my experience with the call, I believe that if you would not like to receive calls from this organization, if you simply talk to them and let them know you'd reather not be contacted via phone but rather mail or email they would be happy to take you off the calling list.
- DonaldPlease do not call any more. I don't want your prayers or your religion.
- Former LU StudentJust got the short call just now. Rang like maybe for seven seconds before they hung up. Perhaps they knew it was the wrong number?
Incidentally I attended the school for two years but didn't graduate from there. Hope they aren't calling about that mess I left in the hallway that one time.
(-_-; ) - Eric from Liberty University replies to Gotten Too ManyHave you asked them to stop calling? If it is a nuisance just tell them they will gladly honor your request. I, in turn will begin praying for your patience with people trying to touch lives.May the Lord touch your life in a special way.
- StanleyAs an atheist, i don't want your prayers or religion. I don't know how they got my number but I told them not to call back and lets just say i have had to say that more then once. Just stop already
- AllenThis number now appears to be an AT&T spam. They tell you to go to an AT&T website, log in with your AT&T credentials, and you'll be credited several hundred dollars. The website they tell you to go to varies, something like 200foratt.com
- EGThanks for the updates. As much as I would appreciate a prayer for me once in a while, I am weary of 800 calls. I recently updated my resume on Monster and this is the only way they could have tracked me down.
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- MichaelCalls without leaving a message. Says "Toll Free Call" on caller ID. Other sites say this is Liberty University. We are on the do not call list.
