Left vm saying capital one approved lower interest rate and to call this number directly

Left a recorded voicemail message saying I can get a lower interest rate for my Capital One card.  I do not have a Capital One card.

Left VM regarding a Cap One card and lower interest rate, and that I had 3 business days to respond. This call came thru my work VM. Caller said name was Marilyn and to call directly.

Left a voicemail saying it was Capital One and if I called back they could reduce the interest rate on my credit card but I don’t have a CapItal One card.

I received the same voice mail today..... I do not have a Capitol One card.  SCAM.

Some lady barely could speak English so I grew
Sceptical, said I would think about it and the end of the world pressure started so I hung up, as I read your reviews! Why do they always have people out of US handle personal info? And if they are legit why so urgent? Seems like they worry more about your money than yourself! I couldn’t trust them!

"Hello this is Marilyn calling from the underwriting department regarding your capital one credit card account based on your recent payment activity and balance you may be eligible for an interest rate reduction to as little as 1.9%"... This is a scam to get your credit card information so they can use it. Don't fall for it! Actually, call the number & waste their time if you have nothing better to do. LOL

I just had a similar call from this number today 12/9/20. It came to my cell but I suspect it to be a scam.

Yes, it is a scam.  No bank calls you up to "reduce" your credit card rate.  You have to call them.  I mean why would they chose to make less money?

I got the same call. Seems the holidays brings them out of the woodwork. I have a spam identifier on my phone line, so the Caller ID was listed as, "SPAM? 800 Service".

They are pretending to be Capital One but are really India-based scammers looking for personal information and then try to extort gift cards.
