Readers Digest wanted us to subscribe again. We canceled our subscription some months ago.

No ID. Phone just rings. No message is left on the answering machine and no one is there when we answer. They call at least three times a day.

Readers Digest:   I called them and told them not to call me again.  We shall see.

Annoying femaile voice switeched me over to a recording of herself (?) after I confirmed I was me.

Toll free shows in the phone & when I tried calling the number back, the recording said "call cannot be completed; please hang up and dial 1-0 and the number!  Isn't that an international call?  what's going on here?

I picked up the fone & heard one female talking to her peer (or boss), then she hung up. (what the heck?)

Called my home asking for me, my son tried to refer them to my cell number and they hung up on him. If this is Readers Digest, I am gonna cancel my subscription. I get Mailings from them at LEAST 1 or 2 times a week asking me to renew my subscription even though it doesnt expire for 4 more months. Now they are going to CALL me too? Geesh...

They're persistent.  This is week three with them calling every day for my wife.  Now that I know who it is I think next time I'll tell them she's left me.

hangs up when answering machine answers. when I answered, gruff voice asked for William Potz ???? who's that?

I don't answer calls when I don't recognize the caller on caller ID.  Since most of you have identified this caller as Readers Digest, it make sense.  I've received free magazines for the last 6 months or so also soliciting me to subscribe.

Called did not leave message.

I do not answer 800 numbered calls and I am on a DO NOT CALL LIST . What can I do. They do not leave a message on the answering machine. This time they didn't hang up for 1/2 hour which blocked my phone. I could not get a dial tone for 1/2 hour . Please help what can I do.

Since I had looked this # up before I decided to have fun with them, they asked for my wife and right away I told them we do not want Readers Digest, I think I flooored him since I knew who he was,He said right away thank you sir and If had any questions to let them know. We had canceled them several months ago.

Glory B - You can do 2 -3things to start with.  1) file a complaint with ftc.gov 2) file a complaint with donotcall.gov and 3 File a complaint with FCC.org or FCC.gov can't remember which.  It is form 8801 if I remember correctly.

If you've had a subscription with Read. Digest in the past 18 mo; they are NOT violating any laws.  If you haven't had a subscription - they are.
One or few people filing complaints won't do anything for 1 & 2; but if many people file complaints FTC & Donotcall.gov will file complaints against the violators.  So it's important all calls such as this are reported by filing complaints.

I am tired of almost daily harassment from this phone number.  I have never requested to be called.  I believe it is from Readers' Digest, but they never leave a message.

Called several times. There is only a dial tone when they hang up.

i cancelled my subscription months ago by mail and phone and i still get 7 to 10 calls a day no message no one says anything i just wish they would stop calling

Noted this number on my caller ID of missed calls. No message left. Consensus seems to be this is a call center soliciting subscriptions for Reader's Digest. I receive Reader's Digest as a "gift" subscription which I didn't request. I've received multiple mailed solicitations for renewal. This is NOT the Reader's Digest of my youth. New style stinks. I can see why they're in bankruptcy. I've added this number to my call rejection list which blocks their calls. A great add-on to your regular phone service if it's available from your provider.
