- jacob replies to Karen Owens| 3 repliesapparently it's some company that's looking for people, and they often get the wrong phone number. It's bullcrap. They called me over ten times in one day, and I finally called back. I got ahold of some woman who said she took me off a call list. They were looking for a Zack, and I'm a Jacob. I don't even know any Zacks.
- JLynn| 1 replyThey never answer when I call back. They have the guts to call me but not to answer. Im sick of it. I owe nothing to no one so this must be a mistake....and it better get fixed!

- a gonzalezleft voice mail saying to return call to office at 800-660-5542, stop calling dont know who you are
- Answer Guy| 2 repliesHere's what to do if you want these [***] to stop calling you:
Use the following letter to stop Collection Agencies from contacting you by phone.
And they HAVE TO!
It's the LAW!
Send the letter via certified mail with a return receipt request. Obtain PS Forms #PS3800 & PS3811 from your local Post Office. Keep a copy of the letter for your files. Send out the letter within thirty days of the first contact by the collection agency or collection attorney. Any attorney who is collecting has to follow the same rules and regulations as any other collection agency so don't be intimidated because the collector happens to be an attorney. As long as the company calling collects two or more debts per year these rules apply (because it means they are a collection AGENCY). The collection agency or attorney are allowed (under law) to contact you one time, AFTER receipt of the letter, to notify you of their intent. The intent should be to stop calling you. Debt buyers (pond scum) are subject to the law in spite of their assertions that since they bought the debt, they are not the collector. WRONG!!! Any company trying to collect from you is a collection agency and as such a debt collector, subject to the law. Send the letter, it's legal and it works! (I've done it)
You must send this letter via Certified Mail and with a Return Receipt this proves the letter was sent and received by the company when you get the return receipt back.
Make your letter as close to the one below as possible.

Re: Obnoxious Collection Agency Account # 33333
Dear Debt Collector;
This will serve as your legal notice under provisions of federal law, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act FDCPA, to cease all communication with me in regard to the above referenced debt or debts.
If you fail to heed this notice, I will file a formal complaint against you with the Federal Trade Commission who is responsible for enforcement of the FDCPA, the States Attorney General's office, The American Collectors Association, local State Bar Association and Illegal Practices of Law Association.
I have decided that I do not want to work with your collection agency or for that matter any collection agency under any circumstances. I will contact the original creditor to resolve this matter directly, as circumstances warrant. By sending this letter it is my intention to stop all your calls and collection activity from this day forth.
You are also notified that should any adverse information be placed against my credit reports as a result of this notice that appropriate actions will be taken. Please give this very important matter the utmost attention.
Sincerely,
You name goes here (signed)

- Me again replies to rWRONG!
You could call your telephone company and tell them that you wish there was a unicorn in your back yard too.
But what you REALLY need to do is send the collection agency a CEASE AND DESIST LETTER.
Google it.
CEASE AND DESIST LETTER. - Me Again replies to Scott
- Me Again replies to JLynnWell maybe if you wave your "Magic Wand"; put on your red slippers, click the heels together and say "there's no place like home" it might just disappear.

- concerned| 1 replyWhen I called this number and questioned why collections for California Budget was using an agency FFG (Frontier Financial Group) that was ordered on April 3, 2009 to stop collecting debts by Nevada, they suddenly claimed to know nothing and transferred me to 1-800- 339- 4038. Interestingly enough this was a university in New Mexico that dealt with student loans. I explained I had never taken out a student loan. Of course, they had never heard of FFG and very concerned that FFG was forwarding calls to them. The director there will contact the FBI.
