800-663-0042

Got a call from this number.  Answered, but put myself on Mute, as I always do with calls I don't recognize.  (A legit person will know the call is connected, and say, "Hello?")  The voice - not sure if it's a person or robocall - said, "This is John.  I'm having trouble with my audio, but please call me back on the number on your caller ID.  If you don't have caller ID, it's 800-663-0042."  No last name, no company name, no explanation of why I'm getting this call, etc.  No way this is legit.

robocall, do not answer, do not call back.

Seems to be a ploy to get people to call the number, reason is unknown. Most likely for a telemarketing lead generator list.

I sometimes get random calls. Sometimes it may be recordings used over and over again in other calls.
I picked up this caller (800) 663-0042 and heard the same message with 'John.' It's likely a scam.

Didn't pick up but got this call a while ago. Always check numbers you don't know before calling back

Got the same message from "John" that the other commenters mentioned.

8006630042 left the above mentioned "Can't hear you, call me..." message.
Sorry Charley, whoops, "John".  The whole world knows this is a SCAM.
Try a better line - like "You won the Irish Lottery".

I like John’s determination to complete his call list even with faulty audio this whole week. Got the exact same call, exact same voicemail. Not very professional to leave a message with no company name or reason for the call. Definitely a scam... and I feel like calling him back just to mess with them.

Got the same 800-663-0042 number on my cell.  Same message as the others.  Having trouble with my audio, call me back at the number on your caller ID.  I did not call back and blocked the number.

Caller id "SPAM? 800 SERVI" on Verizon, 3:45 pm on Saturday. Exactly the same message as reported in original post above. Sounds like a live person, but it must be a live-sounding recording. This same caller id appears regularly in computer tech support robocalls.
