I called this number through a website that said it was Medicare govt info and they wanted to "give" me a device that alerts family and police if something happens, I declined and was next asked by recording to select if I want to go on a free trip with family, and then it disconnected when I didn't chose the info.  I tried calling the number back and it hangs up on me

You had one digit incorrect. It is 800 633 4227    you had a 6 instead of a 3

That number is a correct number for Medicare. However, scammers have gotten trickier. They will somehow hack an official number so they look legit on the caller ID. They will also call from a number with the same prefix or I've even had someone hack my number that way. Found out when I got an angry phone call from someone I don't know who supposedly received phone calls from my phone numbers.

The caller ID said it MEDICARE.  But the person could barely speak any English.  Sounded like a scam to me.  He wanted to give me something FREE.

I have gotten calls from this number claiming to from Medicare. I contacted Medicare and was told that Medicare does not call, they only contact you by mail. Darn scammers! I hope they get their just punishment.

I did not pick up the phone,however, I called the number back and listened. I did not say anything because I know Medicare only will communicate by mail. Some how the scammers need to be stopped!

Get calls 2-3 times a day. Foreign guy  with very broken English -- asking if received new card.  Seems like he is getting me to say yes - i have read that scammers try to get callers to say certain words for editing  purposes. Most of time don't answer.
Lot of background noise

I was actually put through to this number by the State of Colorado Connect for Health so I thought it was legit and answered yes to one question. I sure hope I don't get any scams through this!

They called I answered. Could not understand him spoke very bad. Asking me for my social security number . When I called back was Medicare line??
