I got a call from this number earlier. As usual, no message was left. When someone calls and doesn't leave a message, I call back (from a prepaid mobile phone paid for in cash and time cards added are also paid for in cash, also, the phone is activated but not registered). When I do call back, nine times out of 10, I get an automated voice message which tells me nothing (very rarely tells me even the company name). I then take action to ensure that I never get calls from the number in question again.

Report them to the FTC at www.ftc.gov.  I'm reporting them every time they call.  They called me this morning at 7:58 and they refuse to send written verification of debt.  Come on gang, we can get them sued by the FTC like West Asset management did.  Afterall these people are calling me about that same exact debt that west asset management called me about.

I've been on the do not call registry for YEARS but have continually received these calls.

I keep getting phone calls for my exhusband even though I have told them that this is not his current number---frustrating!!!!

same here. i played along once pretending i was the person they were trying to reach - person who used to have my cell number; gave me her name, last 4 digits of SSN, address, etc. - then told her my next call was to the state atty general. Now they just call & hang up.

i continue to receive calls from 800-670-9944 telling me to call them back. If this is a collection agency i do not have any debt, old or new. i want them to stop calling me. I refuse to call them back

Called and left a message to call 800-670-9944 (NOT 9444, as indicated on caller ID.)

9944 appears to belong to Omni Credit Collections, one of the many bottom-feeding companies that buy uncollectible debt for pennies on the dollar, and then harass anyone they can into paying it, whether they owe it or not.

9444 appears to belong to a phone sex business, Intimate Encounters, as reported elsewhere on this site.

Apparently, Omni Credit Collections made a bit of a boo-boo with their phone system... OPPSIE! :-)

Black female caller asked for me by name; then stated she was with 'Sam's Club Credit Services' to which I replied, your phone ID doesn't match.
She then said she was in omni? credit collection and that I had an overdue Sam's Club bill; and wanted me to verify my address at.........  I told her she had the wrong party since I'd used my card yesterday and to take me off her database.

She said, 'Just verify your last 4 SSN for me' to which I replied, I didn't give out personal info.

She said if I didn't she'd call again tomorrow; I proceeded to call her a black scumbag debt collector to see what her reaction would be; no supervisor transfer, just laughter.

Needless to say, she's a fake along with her call center.

I did call the 'real Sam's manager' and reported usage of their company name for scammer; manager indicated woman was looking for 'information' and Sam's didn't go through 2nd parties.  She was reporting it.

FTC allows these dirtbags since they enter their numbers as 'credit collectors' and FTC doesn't filter legitimate from scammers.  When you state you're not the person involved or not at the address etc. they refuse to release info from their data base w/o 'SSN verification.'

She promised to call me again tomorrow; I gave her the classic FU.

Advice from attorney friend.  Contact Your State Attorney General's office online; file consumer fraud charge with dates/times and info about harrassing calls.

1.  You need to indicate you've personally asked caller to stop calls and delete your number from their data base.

2.   If you pick them up again, keep them on the line as long as possible, when they ask why, tell them you're getting your phone record to show they refused to stop calling.  This kills them off in a day or two.

Message left stating late payments exists and only Ph# given to call them back and when calling back they don't answer - after 12 tries.

They called and said it was an attempt to collect a debt but never leave a company name.  I always get a voicemail and when I press the "leave a message" prompt it does not allow me that option

Called four times this morning before 9:00 a.m.  Pickup up call one time and got a recording "....hold for a very important message."  This number routinely calls two or three times throughout the day.  Purpose of call unknown.

After hearing of woman who collected $10 million settlement from AFA which is another omni cover I'' postulate I now pick the phone up, loudly say 'LOSER' and hang up!!!!!

Spooning is another new term.  It seems they can change your phone ID to read 'O' or 'TOLL FREE' or 'SHERRIFF' without FTC or FCC investigation.

I don't have any debts and don't think I did 8-10 years ago.  They call my cell phone and do not give a name.  I assumed they had a wrong number so at first I tried to call and tell them that.  No way to talk to anyone.

They just started calling-3 or more times per day today and yesterday. They don't leave a message, I just see their number on caller ID. If I owe a debt it is past any statute of limitations in my state. they are not licensed to operate in my state either.
