Computer call from AEP trying to collect.Except No debt is owed .

Had 2 calls from this number tonight 7PM, and 7:43PM

Caller said they were from AEP and are trying to collect on an outstanding balance due. When questioned about the amount due (because the bill has been paid), they said "we are still trying to gather information". Told them to call back when they could answer my questions and hung up.

I just got a call saying my power would be shut off at my request.... I am so DUMB I gave address and SS# associated with the account...

Just got a recorded call from this number warning me that an AEP power outage would occur within the next hour.  If true, I will have to shut down several computer systems to prevent loss of data.  If not true, I don't want to waste time and effort shutting down systems.  I called the number and got AEP customer service, who said they knew of no scheduled outages.  They referred me to another department who also confirmed there were no scheduled shutdowns.  As I talked to the AEP rep, my power went down, was off less than 10 minutes, and came back on.  Sorry, AEP, but your good intentions wasted my time and accomplished nothing.

Got a missed call from this # , If it truly is a power company calling my number , why in the world would they call  a NON customer ? Sure its a scam !

Recording stating if I hadn't missed a payment I was entitled to a discount.  Instead of pressing a number to talk to someone, I hung up & called 800-672-2231.  It's AEP.  Someone is spoofing their number to get your account & personal info.

While this is an AEP number, many of these calls are most certainly scams. I've been getting these for the last week, once a day, and they hang up about 10-12 seconds into the voice announcement (they're calling a number that goes to an alarm panel.) Pretty much every automated scam dialer that calls this number hangs up right about the 11 second mark.

Calling constantly and I don't answer. Leaves no message.

Called 6 times yesterday.  I don't pick up and the caller doesn't leave a message

I received about eight calls from this number in the past two weeks. I hit the "screen call" button or I let it go to voicemail, and they hang up without leaving a message.

It's just AEP's official number. If you google it, it literally takes you to their website. They usually just call to let you know about planned outages for maintenance.

spoof dialer....claims they are calling from AEP and that they are going to shut off the power if we don't make arrangements for payment. Our bill is up to date, checked with my AEP account rep. This is not the 1st time they have called and tried to scam us out of money. The last time, they told us to go to dollar general and buy gift cards. Do not give out your personal info.

I just received a call from this number. Said my electric was going to be cut off.  I realize that this is the legit number for AEP. Problem is that AEP doesn't operate in my anywhere near my area. Spoofing Scammer!
