Message left on voice mail male voice identified himself as representative of New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) advising to return phone call asap. Electric will be shut off if they do not call and pay the shut off amount. When called is answered by automated message, identified as NYSEG and gave three options. When option is picked male caller with a think Hindu accent threatening cut off of services, very threatening and demanding.  When caller advised she has no account through NYSEG and her account is with National Grid male disconnected line.  Incident reported to NYSEG for security purposes

Calling California now.  Doesn't identify company other than your electric company

Another scam using the name of Southern California Edison. They are calling from (714) 655-4555 according to my caller I.D. and are asking for you to call (800) 672-4710. If you call that number which I did you will get the same recording as Southern California Edison and are asked to choose an option, once you reach someone in the billing department usually with Indian accent they will begin to tell you that within 45 minutes your electricity will be disconnected unless you payed them so much money, after speaking with him for a while he said he would transfer me to his supervisor, at that time someone else came on the line and proceeded to tell me I needed to pay
$ 500.00 I played along with him until I figured out it was time to tell him off and threw as many insult as possible at him and then hung up on him. If you ever get a call demanding immediate payment from a utility company just hang up the telephone no legitimate utility company will demand payment over the telephone.
