Definitely a SCAM CALL. This one claiming to be from HP. I don't usually pickup 800 or LD numbers I don't recognize but I was right by the phone & happened to amswer it this time. Strong Indian accent, was difficult to understand what he was saying, I had to ask him to repeat the question several times (Note: I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST TECH SUPPORT FROM INDIA! Legit ones esp from HP are some of the BEST!) He asked if I was aware of error msgs that were being sent to their server. I chuckled a bit but played along & asked if he wanted my CC number (Lol) He said "No, we are not allowed to take CC numbers" but asked the question again, if I was aware of these error msgs. Still playing along, I replied, "Yes, I'm a computer technician". He then asked if I was in front of my computer (I said Yes) then said to please wait a moment as if he was putting me on hold. The line went dead.

Had this exact  same call...I hung up and called HP was informed this is a  Scam.....my computer would never send them messeges!

This  number keeps calling and calling...7 times already ..ringing as I type. No message; sometimes I hear a faint boiler room sound  in the background. My brother answered twice and told them to speak or leave people alone. Obviously, they don't listen.

SCAM CALL

I got such a call (twice) - one from 800-678-5786 and once from what was displayed on my phone as a Private Number. The story is very much the same as what others have said, i.e., from HP, some sort of infection on my harddrive which was reported by my computer to HP). They wanted to logged into my computer and "help" me remove the infection. I did not let them do that. They tried to prove they were from HP by giving me some bogus number on my PC (which I could not fine), then the hung up on me.

Numerous calls frome this number. No messages left. Answered it today and someone wother a thick accent stated they were from HP. I went along and when he would say something I'd say back, you say you're from Dell? He'd state something again, my response; you say you're from Asus? He hung up lol.  Another number blocked.
