I received a voice mail for Cindy Missimer.  She and her husband were the previous owners of my home.  I'm certain you found the phone number by the address, but you have made a mistake.  We actually receive collection and other calls for everyone in their family.  Please remove the phone number you have on file for her.  It is not her contact number.

Call from Mr. Degarland, extension 6011.

Caller left message to call her "Errica Willy", probably a made up name.  No name of company given.  Probably from Citi Sears card looking for one of my relatives.   I have coded any unknown number and when they call back I know not to answer.   I owe no one and I refuse to change my phone number, so stuff it.  Another pest is Jupiter and Barclay.   Don't deal with Citi, Sears, or Barclay!

GC Services. They didnt tell me what they specifically do but I searched and I believe they are debt collectors. They randomly called me through my Google Voice phone number. I gave them (Susan) the number and she was looking for someone else. They called me every day for a week without a voicemail so it was nice calling them and figuring out it wasnt for me. They took me off the list.

You will need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt, and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/
    http://www.consumeradvocates.org/find-an-atto ... tates_value=All

Everything else you need to know follows including at least two or more federal and state agencies where you should report their criminal activities.

    GC SERVICES LIMITED PARTNERSHIP

Please note:  Regarding the collection of student loans, the collection agency wants to convince you that you need to pay $200 or more per month.  The reason is simple-they make a ton more money that way.  If they get you to pay that they make 16% of the TOTAL loan amount.  If you pay less they only get 16% of what you pay every month.

Contact page does not show their address: https://www.gcserv.com/Home/Contact

BBB page with an accredited A+ rating even though they have a government action where they admitted that they were using illegal collection methods,  81 complaints (BBB removed 467 complaints) and 18 negative reviews and 1 paid for positive review as of 1/7/20:    http://www.bbb.org/houston/business-reviews/c ... houston-tx-1956

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file complaints with the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#crnt&panel1-1

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

    Annoyed
Caller "Jasmine" something identified herself and said the call was going to be recorded. She asked to speak to a person not at all affiliated with my phone number and who dors not live with me or near me. I said, "there is nobody here by that name." She asked if I knew the name and I said it was the name of an ex husband many many years ago. She asked if I had a contact number and said it was a very important business matter. I said no...no contact number (he divorced me almost 20 years ago). I asked her where she was calling from (what company) and she would not say. Just said it was an important business matter and hung up.
