8.34 on mine, billed 01/04/09.  No idea how they got the card number, though I did use it on Amazon.com two days before that, which not a place I normally buy things.  I have had this number since 1997.  Not any more.

Happened to me too. Luckily I check my bank account periodically online. Saw this crazy charge, and called my bank. They told me to call the 800 number and I got this weird message about the number not being fully activated yet, then told me goodbye. Bank is cancelling my card & re-issuing a new one, but I have paperwork to fill out. How frustrating!!!

Got charged $8.26 and when I called the number, an automated voice message came up saying I had to call customer service to activate the number.  Okay?
Ended up cancelling my card. Ridiculous.

I was charged $9.31 on 1/06/09.  The $9.31 seemed oddly familiar to me, but I had no idea what "Extra Path" was.  Since the dollar amount seemed familiar I figured some company changed their billing name.

I'm glad I finally did a google search on "Extra Path"

I'll be calling my bank in the morning, however it really pisses me off that I will be without my debit card for 2+ weeks.  I have NEVER fallen victim to cc/id theft, and I can't even begin to guess how they got my card number and info.

Is there no way for the banks to track down who is actually making the charges?  There has to be some sort of paper trail or identity to the "extra path" operators.

I have the same type of charge.  They got me for $8.82.  Phone # is 800-385-8413.  Service says the number has not been activated.

Credit Card companies just don't seem to care.  Extra Path was on my Chase MasterCard as well.  Now everyone gets to take 15 minutes out of their life to tell Chase that all of their card holders are being scammed.

Shame on these card issuers for not even trying to reign these fraudsters in.

But Drew, it's unlikely anybody 'stolel your ID.  They just found a way to insert this charge on thousands or millions of cards and MasterCard just sat there like stupes and let it happen.

I just found the same charge on my account.   I am from El Paso.  Is this an El Paso company?  Give me info and I will personally track these jerks down.

I noticed this $8.32 charge back in Dec 2008.  Called the merchant and got some generic voicemail.  Disputed the charge with my bank and got the money back within 48 hours.  I've had my ING debit card for just about 2 years now.  A thrid party watchdog group suspended my account due to fraud-like activity on my account, which is fine, but no phone call, no heads-up.

Got a $9.74 charge on my credit card from Extra Path 800-6918539 TX which I didn't make. Called the 800 number and got a message that that number has not yet been activated. Called the credit card company and they will credit my account for the $9.74. I'm reporting the scam to any agency that will listen.

"Ditto" Same thing happened to me for $9.72. I guess they feel like anything under $10 will go unnoticed. Voice message said the number had not been activated.

Extra Path number 8003858413 TX on my CC $8.82

Bogus charge, bogus company, bogus cc company to allow this.  We are funding the Extra Path "bailout" and their respective weekend retreats on their million dollar yachts.  Roughly $9 per scammed person, times who knows how many people with cc's.  Got to be one helluva payday!!!

I mentioned earlier that I didn't know how they got my information.

I found out from my credit union that they were hacked.  They plugged up their security hole and issued new cards.

I just wanted to state how they received my information so that other people may know how their information was compromised.
