Received a call regarding my SIN and that this was their second and final attempt to reach me. If I don't call back,  I would be called in front of a judge or a grand jury for federal fraud.

They called me twice within 2 hours and left a voicemail. I couldn't understand the whole thing but i heard grand jury, judge, and arrest.

I received the exact same thing. Must be a scam...

This number has been calling my son also, he even sat on hold for a person to get more info but no one came on the line. I called Ontario Judicial Council, who caller is claiming to represent, and it is not them. They do not use that number anymore. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION.

To add to this, the number appears to be a TTY Toll Free number (for texting service needed by people with hearing impairments), so even if it's still active for something, there shouldn't be outgoing calls coming from that number almost certainly. I've called and left a message with the actual toll free voice number for the "Justices of the Peace Review Council", which is where the number leads back to, and sent a text support request to the Ministry of the Attorney General, who they're claiming to be calling from.

Will update if I hear anything back, but it's very unlikely any government group would *ever* ask for personal information like a SIN number on an outgoing phone call, so please don't provide them any personal information such as that if you receive a call from this number.

After my wife received the call from that number, I received the same on my cellphone and pressed 1 just for curiosity.  The presumably "officer" spoke with a strong indian accent and I asked him to pass me someone who would have a more familiar accent just to reassure me this was not a scam.  He refused to do so and as he was not able to answer detailed questions I asked him, I have started to teach him about the shameful scam he was pulling and hung up on me.  So, don't even bother to press 1.  I also called The Ontario Judicial Concil to which the number seemed to be related and they told me that the number is no longer in use and that they had several complaints about fraudulent calls from the same number.

got this automated message on voicemail: "against your sin #--ignoring this would be an intentional attempt to avoid initial appearances before the magistrate before this goes to federal court where you get arrested press 1 to speak to an officer now

I just had a call from this number as well and the same message regarding my SIN. After asking for pressing 1, I didn't do, nor said anything and waited, and then it hang up automatically.

Apparently, the phone number is a legit Ontario government phone number. I just read on a Facebook post that someone has also received a phone call from this phone number but decided to call the other number they have back. The lady on the phone informed her that yesterday their TTY number had been hacked and told to disregard the phone calls. So if any of you receive a call from 1-800-695-1118 please ignore them as well. There is absolutely no reason that the judicial Council will be calling you since that's the phone number they hacked. Don't even give them your SIN number!
