Who are they???

My reply after also receiving message from 1-800-695-7152.  They identified themself to me as Wells Financial Network Nat'l Bank.  I DON'T know who they are.  The computerized message was a joke!

If you return the call you get a recording asking you to touch tone your social security number! This is a scam.

said it was World Financial Bank, not a sales call, important that i call... ummm... i don't think so!! never heard of them!! there is no website with that name either...

It is a credit card company.  Any credit card that you pay that posts to your bank account as WFNB (like Express, Newport News, etc).

Received automated message to call bank at this number, that it was not a sales call. Called number, was asked to enter account number or social if didn't have account number handy. Stupidly entered both before getting through to human voice with foreign accent who said there was a missed payment and a $20 minimum was needed. Went to bank where they told me I'd been scammed.

Any recorded line that asks for your account number or SSN is a fraud.

Don't fall for it.

This call is a personal call from World Financial Nat'l Bank.  Please call 1-800-695-7152.  When I call, they want ME to put in my social security number.  I will not.

Got the same call on my voicemail. I called it back via Skype. It kept asking for my SSN. Guess I'm going to miss out on their 'important personal financial matter.'

Called the number back. Entered fake information to get to a human. I asked what company they were collecting from, and they said it was Samuels. I then called a samuels, and verified that they indeed were collecting through that company.  

I would recommend that if you have any recent purchases from a samuels that you try calling them to verify that everything is on the up and up.

Turns out it is not a scam. It actually is World Financial Network National Bank, who is the back end for many credit card accounts. However, to avoid entering your SSN, call the bank directly at 614-729-4000 and you can find out what they are calling about. I explained to the woman that their method of contact is a bit vague and suspicious, and that many think it's a scam. In my case it was a problem with an Arizona Mail Order account (also known as Old Pueblo Traders).

This actually worked if you called the number referenced in the above post. I was then able to speak to a live body and give them my phone # that they had been calling me on. I have only had the number a short time and whomever had it previously had it listed on their credit card account. They were then able to remove my phone # from their account so I should not get anymore of these calls.

I have been receiving calls from an automated source, listed on my Caller ID as "Private Caller." The recording is of a woman with a British accent informing me that I am being contacted by Wells Financial Network National Bank regarding "an important financial matter and that this is not a sales call." When I call the number provided, 888-724-6667, I hear a recording that says, "Thank you for your interest in our program. It is not available at this time. Please try again later."

I finally called the bank today, and the customer service rep. told me that any debt-collection or other calls from the bank would originate in the States and would appear on Caller ID as a true number, not a toll-free number or a "Private Caller." She is referring the matter to the telecom dept. to ensure my number is removed from their records but agreed these calls sound suspicious. We will see if I continue to receive these calls.
