- CC| 1 replyThis number 800 695 9796 called me with the Indian accent. She said "call from "Victoria's Secret" and asked for payment that I have purchased. She even read my first name well which my first name is not the common name in USA. Finally, my husband joined the phone conversation and she told that I have purchased products and owned them USD500." She claimed she is working for "The Comenity Bank" who taking care Victoria's Secret Account. We were very suspicious of this call and strongly told her that I have not even registered my account with Victoria's Secret. Then she asked for our address and we asked her back what our address does she has now and she told she cannot tell that information unless I give her my Social Security Number, we both felt something is wrong. However, at the end, we asked her to give us Victoria's Secret Customer Service Tel no. and we will directly talk to them. She gave us 2 phone #'s(800-888-1726 & 800-282-5157) for Victoria's Secret Cust. Serv. and hung up the phone. My husband called Victoria's Secret phone # found online and spoke with a representative. They cannot find my account or even my name in their system. We then asked about the phone #'s the Comenity Bank Rep gave us, she said that the first # was their department and did not recognize the second phone #. So we called back the number that started this whole thing(800-695-9796). And surprisingly they seem to work like the real bank. Finally, after a long explanation, they transferred us to their Fraud Department. They said they will send the paper to us in the next 7-10 days to file in for investigation and they will block this account as of now. When we asked about the details of the account, they asked my social security number but we told them only last 4 digits and after that they explored to us that the account was opened on November 10, 2017, and there was a purchase done online of over $500. So we consider that someone stole my identity to open the credit card. However, Use your own judgment with this number and still be aware anyway because you don't really know who they are at the end of the other line.

- R| 1 replyAnother alleged Comenity Bank call. Asked for Angela (last name). No Angela here, last name may or may not have been mine, tough to tell through the obviously non-US accent. Cut to the chase - told them I wasn't falling for it, stop calling me, and hung up.

- NancyCalled early Saturday morning asking for a person that used to have this phone number. I told her she had the wrong number. She asked twice rather rudely if I knew the person. I said that was none of her business and hung up. She immediately called back! Blocked the call. Bad people.

- R| 1 replyThis number called me and left a voicemail from the comenity bank as in previous posts. I do not have any business with this bank what so ever. The man spoke very broken English and was very hard to understand. My phone registered this as "scam likely" when the number came up.

- R replies to RUpdate- Called comenity bank to check on why I am getting a call. They did not have any record of my name or information (I do not have any accounts with them) and that it was most likely a scam call.
- Saturday Morning Aggravation| 1 replyCalled my house phone, then my cell phone and then my cell phone again. I told her I didn't know a "Sharon" she immediately hung up and then when she called again with the exact same voice , and same accent I said why do you keep calling she said " this was my first time" i said "Really Lady ?!?!?" I said "do not call my house at 8:00 am firstly and when I tell you that you have the wrong number do not call back until you think I am going to change my mind or someone by the name of Sharon magically appears! what an Idiot! "
- BigA replies to Saturday Morning AggravationComenity Bank's address is easily found on the internet so that you can sent them a certified, return receipt "not me" letter.
- Cindy| 1 replyA lady called and left a threatening message. Said I needed to call back by 1 pm concerning a business issue. I could hardly understand her she had a terrible accent. I think she said Comenty Bank. But the translation on my voicemail said something about Wells Fargo too. This is the message:
I knew Ray this is just a ____ __ them calling from ______ _ ____ I'm calling in regards to a ________ business matter __ ____ reason please do not need to meet for ____ __ you and ____ this is going ______ to speak with 25 1 PM so we can discuss the options for _____ looking for you I can be reached at 1 800 204 I'm on my 10 extension Friday 11 ___ 99 I need a ________ ___ a limited amount of time to ______ you I may be forced to make a business Jen recording your business back to _____ _ ____ ____ __ your inquiry in the event we do not hear from you just let me ______________________ again my number is one 800 804 sorry Wells Fargo Online ________ extension 10 you ___ 9997 again this is coming to see you ___ _____________…”
I called Wells Fargo and they said they made no calls and not to give any information to them. I believe this is a scam to try and get information and or money. I didn’t understand the name of the bank until I saw these previous complaints.- Caller: Comment Bank

- AnnoyedCalled me at 7:16am. Such a thick accent, all I could tell was that it was a male, and I could only make out the words "1,876" and then "Visa or Mastercard". In response (and still half asleep), I said, "Ok, can you repeat that?" Again, garbled and heavily accented, all I could make out was, "When would you like to pay this debt?"
My response was, "Well, in the US it is illegal for collectors to call before 8am; so I will probably just pay it when hell freezes over because I don't deal with scammers!" and hung up on him.
By the way, I am completely DEBT FREE. I have NO outstanding bills, no outstanding balances on my cards. For all of these reasons, plus the call before 8am, has red flags all over it--SCAMMER.- Caller: Could not understand due to accent

- TinaThey called me twice I didn't answer, so I called back & the man said he couldn't find
- TinaThey called me twice I didn't answer the phone calls but, I called back they asked for my number I gave it to him & then he said he didn't have any information on my number then I ask him then why did you call my phone number he said to check my voice mail I did & nobody left anything. So I called back a lady answered & she told me the same thing & she also said she was calling from Comenty Bank I said I dont bank with you so why are you calling me she & he both said they needed more information. I told the both of them this was a scam & I was going to report them ( with their heavy speaking ancients) & do not call my phone again. So I hung up & block their number. I just want to know how are these crazy people are getting our numbers. I had another person call me & tell me they were calling from the IRS I told them the IRS doesn't call you they will contact you by mail because I use to work for them but, they still pursued & said they were sending the cops to my address & told them please send them so I can report your scamming behinds....this is ridiculous....don't believe the hype!!!

- MandyRussell, with broken English, called from Comenity, (had to ask a supervisor how to spell it) and knew my first name last name and my phone number. Asked several times if it was a good number. ?? Said my Wayfair account was two months past due and I owed 654.10. When I said I have no Wayfair account and should I contact the credit bureau, he said he needed to talk to supervisor. His supervisor apparently said I need to send a snail mail to PO box 182782 Columbus OH 43218 and state I don't have an account. When I asked him to email me regarding the issue, he asked his supervisor who told him he couldn't send me an email, or give me an email address. I requested the phone number for comenity bank, this is the number he gave. Reverse lookup got me here. Lol. Yeah. Scam fershur. I did check my credit report to be safe, and all is good.

- JaneRecently called my landline and left message (garbled ). It was a Indian woman’s accent and she wanted a call back. After reading these comments here, I conclude it is a scam.

- BecSame as above. I never answered as my phone carrier marked the caller as spam/fraud... wouldn’t have answered anyway as I didn’t recognize the number. They left similar messages to the above accounts. They just made up a name, probably hoping I would call them back to let them know this was not that person’s phone. Just a theory... if they call you by the correct name it is probably because you have you cell phone set up with your name for the voice mail. I put my name in as “just me”, as anyone calling me should know my name and not need me to tell them.
