Message left indicating research company called "Cadence"
Wanting participation in survey.

These callers have the personality of a door knob!  The caller ("Steve") identified himself as a representative doing a study for Kadence International.  I asked him to spell the company name - I looked it up on the web and it is a legitimate company, though I'm not sure the caller really is a representative of that company.  He indicated that the survey could not be mailed and that it has to be done over the phone taking about 25 mins. to answer questions.  It's pretty bad when you have to pull the information from these people as if you were playing 20 questions.  The last question I had for him was to get his last name...  (Steve Thompson - not sure if this is a legitimate call or not.  No one here has the time nor desire to participate in 25 min. phone surveys!!!)

I asked for the phone number when they told me they'd 'pay' me with a $30 gift certificate to Amazon. Sounds fishy to me. Ive never heard of a survey paying AND that would mean giving out my personal info. No thanks! Even if they ate legit (which I doubt), never give your personal info to a stranger.

it's easy to get an 800 # with a voicemail system. Costs $9.95/ mo.

Also, I'm on the Do Not Call list, which they should have known plus it's a cell #.

Called our company on behalf of our vendor for a survey. They seem legit, or are very good at pretending to be legit.

They seemed to know what our business dealings were before they called, which added to their level of "legit-ness".

The do not call list only pertains to telemarketers and solicitations.  Market Research or study calls DO NOT COUNT as solicitations.  This also goes for cell phones.
