Received a call from this number, July 16th.  Mr. Alex Ward was the caller.  He was asking my husband about his former wife.  Where was she, what was her number, etc. etc.  My husband would not give him any information, unless Mr. Ward told him WHY he was asking.  Mr. Ward said "I can't say" and my husband said "well, I can't help you."  Mr. Ward gave a reference number:  491378   ?????

Received a call from Sue Cole (800) 706-3401 ext 3076 on July 29, 2007 about a "business matter". Ms. Cole called my parents seeking contact information regarding my father's ex-wife of 15+ years. Poor practice, calling ex-partners I think.

Rec'd a call from this # to people I haven't lived with in 17 years!!!!!
Now they are harassing elderly people.

I received a call from FCS - Financial Credit Services. Ms Evans told me that my debt had turned into a legal matter, that they were lawyers & would be suing me & putting a lien against me unless I paid double of what my original debt was. I agreed to a payment arrangement to stop the lien & she agreed adjust the balance back to the original debt. Even taking $60 off if I paid in full by the end of the month.
After research I found out that they were sued by the Atty Gen of Illinois, for these same illegal practices, as they are not a law firm & cannot place a lien.
I also discovered that the debt they were trying to collect is 6 years past the statute of limitations therefore no longer collectible. It has been wiped from my credit report years ago.
On top of that - instead of a bank draft they forged a check in my name. The bank considered it fraud, cancelled my acct. & is going to put the payment back in my new account.
The 800 # is the # Ms. Evans gave me to contact her.
I never received any written notice or confirmation from these con artists.

I have been receiving phone calls from these people for approx 3 - 4 years now. I have proven time and time again that this is NOT me, yet they continue to harass my parents and my grandmother. I have a law called the Fair Debt Collection Practices which is a law that states they have to stop calling if they are asked too. Also, ask for validation from these collection agencies, alot of the time this will stop the calls. My next step will be to talk to a lawyer and see my options to go after them...
