Scam! Caller identified herself as a representative of SunTrust and said I was preapproved for a new Platinum card.  She then asked me to confirm the last 4 digits of my ss# and birth date.  Yeah, right!  I called SunTrust's fraud department and gave them the 800 number that called and was informed that the number is NOT calling on behalf of SunTrust and they have had many complaints about this number recently.  They are monitoring accounts for fraudulent activity.  Do not answer from this number, they are scammers.

800-709-1274 toll free.   Call from this number was a guy (with a heavy foreign accent) claiming to be from the "Windows Technical Department". I messed with him a bit and he told me that my computer was infected with a virus. He could fix it, told me to turn on my computer and follow his instructions.  When asked how much this would cost, he said it was free. He kept urging me to go to my computer, turn it on and follow his instructions.  I finally told him that if he called again I would call the police, he got very nasty.

The DNCR and these scam calls were around before President Obama was elected.

Got a call from this number at 1:03 pm. I didn't answer because I was on another call with somebody else, but I have been getting lots of calls recently from different numbers I don't recognize and whenever I research the number I find that they are credit card scams. I'm sure that's what this call was for as well.

Got a call from this number today and no message left. Every day I get several calls, always from different numbers that I never recognize. Whenever I Google the numbers I see that it's scam phone calls.... free energy audits, solicitations to lower interest rates on credit cards, free security systems, surveys, Microsoft supposedly notifying you that there is a virus on your computer, the scams go on and on and on.... so freakin' annoying!!!!

I got the same, heavy foreign accent called me at 10:30 at night. I answered I thinking it was family. He gave me the same spill about Windows, I told him it was to late at night to be calling.
I get the call during the day and they say  it is Suntrust.

1-800-709-1274 just now called. Lady said: Hello I'm Daniel from Suntrust and asked for my 73 year old mother. I asked did she call you? She said no that they were giving something of a promotion! I asked for a number that she could get back in touch with her. She gave 1-877-709-5244 ext. 1003394. I THEN TOLD HER THAT I will be google'n the number she called from then hunged the phone up in her face!!! They can call you and it'll be your number on the caller ID! I suspect it will soon be the actual number showing of the business they are PRETENDING to be!!
If anyone these days call you then don't trust it. Hang up and look it up!
    • Caller: ??Suntrust?? Yeah right!!

I know this is not a real suntrust bank. I know the official phone number. They never call and don't leave a message. Something Stinks. Do your research and double check it again if you have to.

Called at 12:35 p.m. but left no message. The screen on my phone said the ID was "Unavailable," which invariably means a scammer.

I also received a call from this number twice but did not answer.  I called back by blocking my number and they identified themselves as Suntrust Bank and they wanted me to state my full name.  I mediately hung up.  I then called Suntrust Bank Customer service and they immediately informed me that they do not have that number in their data base. It's a fraudulent number trying to obtain personal information. They would like for anyone receiving calls from this number to hang up and report it to Suntrust customer service fraud department. I hope this information has been very helpful.

I received a call from this 800 number, I did not answer, a vm was left stating that I could reduce my credit card interest rates, that's funny when you  can call a credit card company directly to lower your interest rates.
