- Buddy800-713-9890 called about 3 times today and yesterday and they do leave a message. If these people want to talk to us bad enough that they call they could at least leave a message letting us know who the heck they are. Tired of these calls, it needs to STOP!
- jennyA pain in the neck - calls often - no msg.
- JCI blocked my # and called them and it said they are a telephone communications and charities group fundraiser. The recording says we are sorry if you don't wish to be called especially if you have signed up for the national do not call list. It goes on to say that they can call because they are exempt from that list!! That's not cool but ok. I got the call yesterday and today, on my cell (12-8-08 & 12-09-08) and didn't answer one and they left no message, today's I just picked up and sat there on the line not saying anything, and no one ever said anything so I hung it up, blocked my # and called from my work # and got this info. Hope it helps. Thanks. They will call cell phones and work #s. They don't care.
- Caller: unknown or doesn't tell you!
- GSBRepeated calls from 1-800-713-9890, no messages left.
- Caller: Unknown
- janThis "unknown caller" is a pest. No message, not anything. If charity, I never give to charities over the phone as I have found most are bogus.
- Buddy| 1 replyThey called me too about 12 times and I told him that I was on the do not call list and he said that they didn't have to follow those rules. So I told him he'll be hearing from my lawyer for harassment calls. Since I said that to him they stop calling me. It's been about 2 weeks now!
They make laws like the Do Not Call List but 99% of these companies don't have to follow by it, so why make rules?

If they are telemarketers soliciting on behalf of charities...the rule applies to them. Read the FTC's FAQ #28 & #29 below (cited above):
28. If I register my number on the National Do Not Call Registry, will it stop all telemarketing calls?
No. Placing your number on the National Do Not Call Registry will stop most telemarketing calls, but not all. Because of limitations in the jurisdiction of the FTC and FCC, calls from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors would still be permitted, as would calls from companies with which you have an existing business relationship, or those to whom you’ve provided express agreement in writing to receive their calls.
29. Are calls from political organizations or calls soliciting for charities covered?
Political solicitations are not covered by the TSR at all, since they are not included in its definition of “telemarketing.” Charities are not covered by the requirements of the national registry. However, if a third-party telemarketer is calling on behalf of a charity, a consumer may ask not to receive any more calls from, or on behalf of, that specific charity. If a third-party telemarketer calls again on behalf of that charity, the telemarketer may be subject to a fine of up to $11,000. - donotcallmeRepeated hang up calls to my anwering machine. Never leave a message.
- Jeff| 2 repliesRepeated (sporadic) calls weekly. I do not answer calls I cannot ID in some way - wait for messages. The calls come to my cell phone.
These folks NEVER leave a message. It is VERY annoying. I get great PLEASURE in deleting THEM.- Caller: NO
- Jim replies to Jeff| 1 replyThis is the Republican National Committee calling. i asked to be put on THEIR do not call list. From my understanding, political groups and religious based ones are NOT subject to the general do not call listings. They have a free speech right to contact you.
- Kenn - CANow they are calling cell phones. Which costs me more money, and they don't leave any message, just the phone number (from my caller ID). STOP THIS PLEASE!
- tooraineyI am now getting numerous calls on a daily basis from a variety of 800 numbers that other postings have identified as charity/political. If they are third party callers calling on behalf of these particular organizations, then they are violating the terms of the do not call registry. Otherwise, my understanding is that if they are calling directly from a charity or political organization, they can call you in spite of your number being listed on the registry.
- L.PThis is harassment! Do not continue calling!
- keyboardsCALLED DID NOT LEAVE MESSAGE OF COURSE
- JudyI answered this one today. It was a Right to Life organization and I sent them a donation.
- Caller: Right to Life Organization
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Robie Irwin-CasanovaI hate calls that do not give information and you just sit there.
- Caller: unknown
- AnJOThe call is from MDS Communications, a "charitable fundraising" organization. If you call the number, you will get the option to leave your number and request it be removed from their calling list, which they say may take "a few weeks."
- Caller: MDS Communications
- Call type: Valid

- DUDEThe FCC can issue warning citations and impose fines against companies violating or suspected of violating the do-not-call rules, but does not award individual damages. If you receive a telephone solicitation that you think violates any of these rules, you can file a complaint with the FCC. There is no charge for filing a complaint. You can file your complaint using an on-line complaint form found at esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm.
