- J-anonTHREAT LEVEL: High. What follows is a true story...
Recieved multiple calls from this and related numbers today (will try to tag them as well for all the good it will do).
Out of exasperation, finally answered the call from this #.
*cue cinematic creepy, badly automated computer voice*
The message as follows:
"WARNING: We have received information that your Social Security Number has been compromised/ruined/etc.... blah blah... All your social security benefits are belonging to us and have been Canceled and your Soc# has been revoked."
"If you think this is Error, please to press 1."
(Oh No! What should I do???)
Me: *immediately presses 1*
"Connecting you to our help staff"
Indian/south east Asian voice answers (seriously guys??)
Him: "Hello! So happy to reach you so we can-"
Me: (literally helpless with laughter)
Me: "No please Sir, I'm sorry for laughing, i was just so scared... it's just that you are quite seriously the most pathetic excuse of a scammer I've ever listened to... You Sir have shamed the United Scam Union Callers of America (U-SUCA)."
Him: ... *click*
NEGATIVES: The people are thieving, lying, bottom feeding scum, yes.
POSITIVES: Hold Time: 2 seconds!
As opposed to VERIZON or COMCAST, at least SOMEpeople wont keep me on hold for hours before trying to cheat me out of my money...- Caller: Evil Computer Scam Voice
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- TReceived one call today. The voicemail says "goodbye" in an automated voice. I called back and it said in an automated voice that the number could not be reached. Likely a scam.
- annoyedI have received a flurry of calls every day from variations of 1-800-722-XXXX 2746,2741,2738,2725
No messages left. It's clearly some kind of SCAM. I really want to figure out how to turn them in.
