- AnonymThis place just called and asked for my husband, then told me he had entered a drawing at a mall near our house. He probably hasn't even been to the mall more than a few times in his life and definitely hasn't entered any drawings there. How are they getting our names and numbers? Oh, by the way, I called the number listed above and am currently typing this while I leave a 3 minute message of nothing! Let's unite and put a stop to this!!!
- nockwayHad been receiving same numerious calls from the same 800 number.
After me calling back a number of times, finally talked with a human being, then managed to talk my way to a supervisor named "MANDY" (after a 15 minute wait). She said they are a company in Pittsville, MA called DATAKING ( http://www.datakingcorp.com/ ). Web site showes they are a New York Company associated with Berkshire Getaways who are in MA. Main office telephone number for Data King is (518)477-8618 and for Birkshire is (413)443-5310.
Suggest calling their coorporate offices. For me, doing this with a combination of squeeky wheel and threats to report them to federal do not call list resulted in no more calls. Worked for me so far.- Caller: Data King

- RosaI work for this company and I have to say some of you people are so damn annoying to talk to yourself =]
- hey replies to CuriousSet up an appt. and don't show up for it.
- MikeThese idiots have been calling me every day, I tell them to take my number off the list and they still call!
I called the number once and they pretended they couldn't hear me... other times they don't answer, or it gives a message that no one is available to take my call at this time.
I tried reporting the number via donotcall but they reregistered the number 7/2/08 so you can't report it for 30 days!- Call type: Telemarketer
- MikeCorrection to above, phone number is: 800-724-0497

- jawarfcall me 2-3 times a week
- DizThese guys called, and when I picked up the line, they hung up. Thing is - I work midnights; and that doesn't make me a happy camper.
So, I called the number, and gave the receptionist HELL. I told her I work midnights, that I finished working a 12 hour shift, that I was asleep, and that some [***] had the audacity to call and hung up immediately.
The woman requested my phone number, and told me I was going to be put on their do not call list...but I didn't give her the benefit of ending the conversation; I hung up on her immediately after.
One of my biggest pet peeves is apathy; I refuse to take this sitting down. :)- Caller: ???

- niklin| 1 replyKeep getting phone calls from this phone number. I have a cell phone and inform them they are calling a cell phone and please not call anymore. do not listen
- MD31I received a call from 800-724-0497. As far as I can tell they bought my number from some sort of list. According to them I entered a contest at Gino's pizza. Uhh....no I didn't. They called me 9 times in 3 days. Today I picked up and said the valuable words "please remove me from your calling list immediately". Now if the continue to call I have recourse for legal action. They get no respect from anyone by beginning a phone call with a lie. I've never been to a Gino's pizza in my life! Liars are bad even when they offer 4 free round trip airline tickets. If it was that good, lying wouldn't be necessary.

- MD318 replies to niklinI read an article about a man who started making a hobby out of suing companies that did not adhere to his "take me off your calling list" requests. He received $3,000 for every violation from mortgage companies and the like, like this one. Best of luck. If they don't listen to me I will share how it goes. I don't approve of being sue happy but they need to respect our wishes.
- MD31 replies to BUNS@THEBEACHRegister at www.donotcall.gov If they continue to call, file a complaint at the same website. If the government has to weed through numerous complaints for any company it will annoy them enough to follow up. So long 800-724-0497!
- SFI get calls from this company, and the 3rd call said "This is your 3rd and FINAL call" in a very rude manner. They were accurate where they got my name from (a county fair) beacuse I had signed up to win tickets to an Indianapolis Colts game and then when I was filling out my entry ticket, they started trying to get me to sign up for their timeshare trip. I figured it was a scam when I remembered that and they said 4 round trip tickets, but didn't say where or who it was sponsored by and all that. So I'm not calling back.

- RAJCalled me this morning while I was in the shower, left a message claiming I won a trip to Vegas and that they drew my name from a form I filled out. It's entirely possible that I filled out a form somewhere but they didn't even mention what company they are from or what form it was. I don't intend to call back. This is a Canadian cell number that they are calling.
- kl replies to Curiousi get the same thing they call i answer no response then later in the day the ask for a mr or mrs mcmoran. week after week it is the same thing. i called it back and got the vacation center. stop callling already
- Wife| 2 repliesThe woman who called asked for my husband. I said he was not home. She said, is this his wife? I said yes. She went on a spiel about how my husband entered a contest and we won a round trip for 2 to Los Angeles. My husband never enters contests for this reason.
We had to attend a 90 minute thang in Canmore at some Acorn Resort and Spa this week -- Thursday was the only appointment. We also had to pay the airport tax and our way to Canmore to attend the meeting to collect the trip. She wanted to know if we made over 50 grand a year, if we had a major credit card... she sounded very bored and was probably reading off a cue card. I think if a company was giving away a trip they would sound very excited and wouldn't care less if you had a credit card. I also heard other people speaking in the background so it was a call centre.
I hung up. Her voice put me to sleep, I blocked their number.- Caller: Acron Spa & Resort
- Two More UnsatisfiedWe get calls like this several times a day. Like everyone says, they do not listen when you ask not to be called. They believe that after all these calls you will break down and buy from them but do not consider the alternative that because of all these calls you will NEVER buy from them.
Our problems started with Shell Vacations. When on holidays we looked into their timeshare. At first they didn't like the idea of dealing with Canadians but then changed their minds (to get us on side) then showed us the property which appeared very nice from what we saw. But we were uncertain and didn't commit to it, we felt something was wrong and they would not really answer certain questions. We did some further research and came to the opinion that there was a lot wrong. After lots of phone calls, sometimes 2 or 3 a day, they sort of gave up but we still get them every couple of weeks. They then sold our names to other timeshares or affiliates of them and we now get up to 5 calls a day from different companies in Canada, the United States and the caribbean.
My best advice is to get call display, block 800 numbers and make sure you do not hand out your name. Even answering your phone puts you on the hot prospect list.- Call type: Telemarketer
- Ginny| 2 repliesLive in western Canada but apparently I was in some mall in Chicago where I entered a contest. Do these morons really have any credability when the first words out of their mouth is a lie? I also talked to Shell Vacations but really disliked their properties in Hawaii. To have some very large man screaming at me that I was stupid was not acceptable (just got up and left). I guess my name got sold also. I don't even answer any more.

- Rosa| 3 repliesI work for Data King, and I've probably called some of you folks in the Calgary or Edmonton area. When we tell you we have an entry form that was filled out, it in all honesty is a hand written entry form you filled out. I can suggest if you do NOT wish to receive these types of calls to NOT fill anything out. The back of the entry forms do tell you they are being used to solicit timeshares. This is a very frustrating job to have. After 4 hours of being yelled at by rude people, it really takes a toll on you. We are only doing our job, and it's a simple phone call really. No need to act like we are going to murder you. I know telemarketers get a really bad rep, but please, they are people too. You will get farther with us if you are courteous and polite. And for people who get called and asked to be placed on a DO NOT CALL LIST. Please know that we also have dialers that randomly call numbers. It does take between 24-48hours for the computer to delete the number. And we DO need your number and name to take it out of the list. Telling us well you called me and hanging up doesn't work. You WILL be called again. There is other things to start a hate group about, for example our very brainless president so please have some consideration next time you receive a call from this number. It might just be me =)
- Billy SALES REP. replies to Ginny| 1 replyHi My name is billy and i presently work for the number mentioned above 800-724-0497. let me just shed some light on you all. When We Call about an Entry Form we are actually Calling About an Entry Form, a word of advice WHEN YOU fill out these types of things people always seem to fail to read the terms and conditions and also fail to notice who is sponsering the big prize whether it be a car or large some of money. it will have a logo on there such as maybe Bluegreen Resorts or, Infiniti Vacations etc. The Entry form will also be used in the form Solicting and Timeshare. If you dont want us to have your name and number address etc dont fill out forms. Nothing is ever Free in the world GUILTY. When we call you about a Vactation package you can recieve we are. We ask you to see a brief presentation so IN EXCHANGE FOR YOUR TIME: you get a Vacation. Some places have TIMESHARE PRESENTATION i do know how the econmy is going lately i understand people hold tight to there money. We all have jobs we all need money...I WORK at a wonderful Vaction Center. anyways. there are two things more i would like to say. there is an Income Requirment yes, reason is that when you go to our presentation feel people with a high income level or more likely to buy but there are NOT OBLIGATED TOO. With the credit or debit for ID, lets say you are intrested in buying something but you forgot to bring cash, well your credit or debit can be used for that, we clearly state that you are more than welcome to cover your numbers and back strip we have to match name to Photo ID. How i earn my check is by hopin you show up and have a good time, when you dont I suffer!! Why Because i am going by Commision...ever have to struggle every week to make ends meet being a single parent? We all have odd jobs this jus happens to be man. WITH THE DO NOT CALL thing it takes up to 48 hours. depending on how many entry forms you filled out we cant keep track of taking yours out. so in the event that there are entry forms in your name I Apologize because you decided to put your important information on a piece paper and failed to read the terms and conditions.
