This no. was given as from a NY State health dept. health survey statwide. No personal info. was requested. Seemed legit.

Depends on the sort of questions.  There are questions that are not personal info that still might be "qualifying" questions for telemarketing or telescammer calls.  In any case, just because the state asks, does not mean you have to answer.  You have a right to privacy, and near as I can tell, most state databases are far from secure.

They said NYS & CDC health study. Asked for my SS #. # on caller ID 208-376-3376 voicemail gave the 800-727-6016. They kept asking questions in the last 30 days how did U feel. I told him U are starting to piss me off. He told me he was done.

I just downloaded the PDF file of the questions they are supposed to ask.. Those are not the questions... I AM NOT SURE BUT SOMEONE MIGHT BE SCAMING!!!

When they call/you call back.. Your put on hold. Then transfered to another call. They tell U someone will B calling U back shortly.. Becareful. They do ask for your your social security #. They tell U its Nys Health & CDC. Research study

There is absolutely no reason for any survey company needing to know your SS#.  No doubt this is a scam to get those numbers for nefarious purposes.

Was out and found a message from "Josh" and "Clearwater Research, Indiana Health Department" on answering machine at 5:08 Saturday, Feb. 4.  The state does not generally call people on Saturdays, at least in the afternoons.  Found this site online and confirmed my thought that the call was fake, not from a state office.  No way I would give them ANY personal info about myself especially my SS #. I wonder if they will call again.

Scam. They called like 5 times, I finally answered and no reply.. they hung up.
The voice mail said "Hello the Indiana Department of health on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are conducting a starting about the health of Indiana residence please call us toll-free at 1-800-727-5016 our regular business hours are Monday through Friday 10 AM to 9 PM Eastern time and Saturday 12 PM to 7 PM Eastern time and Sunday 3 PM to 9 PM Eastern time for most people to study"
And the number that shows up is 1 (208) 376-3376..
Yeah right, Indiana department of health.. Idiots. I blocked their number.

I live in Maine and received a call from 207-560-3700 asking me to call them back at this 1-800 number. "Desiree" said she was calling from Clearwater regarding the health of Maine residents. After reading others comments, I'm not calling back. No way I'd ever give out my SSN to anyone.

I've gotten calls from them too but haven't answered. Now I definitely won't.
