In India we are not allowed to share Card backside number, but here they ask & they confirm what transaction made on my account.Is it a fraud number?

I have reported many scam callers on this site, but have to say that this was a legitimate call back from bank of america that I had requested.  The caller id only shows 800 Service, but the message when you pick up definitely states it's the call back you are expecting from BofA.

Why would BOA make any callbacks, when you could just stay on hold after initiating a call to the number on the back of your card or on your statement?

This was a legitimate call.    We had questioned a charge on our card and they were calling to adjust our bill.

They had to look up the charge and whether or not it had been withdrawn.  He called back with the information we needed, did not ask for any information from us as we had given that when we initiated the call.

I called Customer Service at Bank of America to report a lost card. I needed to ask some questions to a real person before cancelling my card, and the wait time to speak to a representative was guessed to be 20 minutes, so I opted for a CallBack. This (800-732-9194) is the number that called me back within the specified time. Other than verifying my name, they didn't need to ask me for my card number to finally cancel. They had that info from my previous call when I only gave the last 4 digits to the automated call system. Since I was calling from the phone number listed for our account that was all that was needed. The real person sending out the new cards did ask to verify our current mailing address.

This ia a fraudulent fishing number do not give them information, go online and call b of a fraud dept directly to inquire about your account/credit/business.

I just got a call from this number, didn't answer.  I don't have an account with BOA or a credit card - so why would they be calling me about anything,

Caller called 3 times in the last 5 minutes. Been calling regularly every day at least 3 times for two years.  FRUSTRATING.

I have never been a customer of BOA but they keep calling from this number.  I have blocked them.

This guy has called my husband 7 times day to lower the rate on my credit card. I am the only one who can make changes. He would not listen to me. I told him he was a scammer and that if he would not stop calling i would sue his sorry [***] for everything he got. He hung up.

Answered because I was expecting a call but when I answered, after 30 seconds the call was disconnected.

Just received a call from this number on my cell phone.  I don't have anything at all through Bank of America, which was on the Caller ID, so I did not answer the call.  I really wish people would get a legit job and leave us all alone!!  80% of the calls I get on my cell phone each day at work are from scammers!!

2 calls to my cell phone but no message left.  Bank of America only has my landline, so I know it wasn't THEM calling back.  And I don't answer calls when I don't recognize the number.  On EITHER phone.  Because if I do and it's spam, I want to play them annoying music on my computer, and it takes time to pull up that file with the YouTube URLs....  Although I have considered picking up and say "FBI Field Office"....

I think this is a total scam.  I googled lost debit card for BofA and this number came up as suggested with a LEGIT link to Bofa.  This was my bad because I should have gotten the number directly from the website.  However, when I called, they were trying to get me to tell them entire number of the debit card number that I had just lost.  What?!  Then they asked for my social and again and long period of uncomfortable silence.  They said that I had a gold card and a silver card and they needed to know which account number; the whole number.  I don't have either one of those cards.  They didn't even say sorry about you losing your card or anything.  Geeze.  SCAM.

However, as scammers quite often spoof legitimate phone numbers it is wise to never give a caller personal information of any sort.

I had called BOA for a credit card expiration date question and l left my number for a callback so I wouldn't have to wait on hold.  This number called me back but when I answered after the second ring, they hung up! Is that customer service?
